  1. System Specs: PSU: Corsair VS 650W MOBO: Gigabyte GA-B350M-Gaming 3 CPU: AMD Ryzen 1700 8c/16t @3.45ghz RAM: 20gb Hyperx Fury DDR4 @2500mhz GPU: ASUS GTX 1060 6gb @1949mhz STORAGE: 120gb Kingston SATA ssd, 2tb Seagate Firecuda SSHD The context and My Issue: I had an old WD Black 2tb HDD that was a pass down of a pass down from somewhere in the ball park of ten years ago. It ran like a champ up until two years ago, when it decided to go and I failed to recognize the obvious signs it was giving off. After two years of operating as an effectively dead HDD (upon boot the HDD would stay pinned at 100% usage for upwards of 10 minutes, and there were 0 reads or writes happening; AND it sounded like a coffee machine brewing coffee), I realized that the HDD had died, and it was causing serious dropped frames in games, recordings to become corrupted, and overall just taxation on my system as a whole. So I decided to unplug it (safely, of course) and see if that would help my system, knowing I would instantly lose all the data and shortcuts to that data. The result? Butter smooth gameplay and recordings look crisp. HOWEVER, I tried to launch any game that requires the EPIC launcher, and since it was on the old drive that I tore out, it goes looking for that connection to no avail. I also attempted to "uninstall" the launcher via "Add or Remove Programs" in Windows; nothing. Finally, I tried to install the launcher onto one of my current drives, however it gives me the error "Invalid Drive: D:\" (The Old Drive). Screenshot #1 shows when I try to launch Squad (since it's based on the Unreal Engine, I assume it's the issue), and how it won't allow me to proceed. Any help regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated. I don't have the option of reconnecting the old drive, either; it's long gone. I have essentially two issues, but I believe one stems from the other. How can I redirect my system to the new drive, if that's what I need to do? I believe the Squad crash is based around the prior issue. I apologize for the confusion.
  2. Maybe it’s due to my configuration, but when I use x264 to encode, I see all 16 threads flare up unless I specifically set it to certain cores via affinity. Granted, my system is in no way struggling, but being able totally control the usage is what I’m after.
  3. Hey guys. Had an idea come to mind to find a very niche want of mine and couldn’t find any direct solutions on the forums (yes, I looked xD) Here’s the general scope: Run OBS virtually using a virtualization software, and have anything regarding the stream (my intended use of OBS) on that “OS”. This way I can allocate specific system resources to my real desktop, and the stream can have its own dedicated resources as well. The only two things I’m unsure of are latency and quality. I’ve heard of OBS’ NDI plug-in that allows a network signal to be streamed out to whatever platform the user is on, but what’s the quality and latency of an approach like this? in case anyone needs to know: Asus GTX 1060 6gb Ryzen R7 1700 @3.4ghz 20gb DDR4 @3200mhz x2 Seagate Firecuda SSHD 2TB Thanks for the opinions ?
  4. I should mention my previous PSU was 550w. Maybe it was low quality idk. But I’m think 650-700 maybe?
  5. So I was doing a Christmas Eve Live stream over on my twitch channel and everything was going great. Playing GRW, streaming, and recording locally without a probably. Then seemingly at random, my dual screen config goes black, my led lights on my mouse and keyboard freeze mid cycle, and I hear my system fans power off. After attempting to turn the system back on, (even after resetting the PSU switch) the system would never power on again. My GPU light indicator would turn on, and the same with my peripherals, but the pc wouldn’t boot. Finally, I tested one piece at a time on another platform and every single piece verified good except the PSU. TL;DR, I need a new power supply. Specs below: Ryzen 1700 @3.5 Asus GTX 1060 6GB @Stock 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX @2667 Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 Mobo 120GB Kingston SSD 2tb WD Black HDD I have a soft cap of $80, but if it is necessary I can push it a little bit. Thanks!
  6. Still looking for people to play with? I’m down to play most days
  7. The same variable across both mobos and cpus would be either the ram or psu. How’s your power supply? I can’t explain the pins
  8. Not to discredit you or your friend, but for redundancy I need to ask: Are you installing the cpu correctly?
  9. Thanks for the help bro
  10. I think I’m sold on the system. As long as the pieces “work” with this board and 1700, I’m going for it. Problems or not I’ll make it work. I want the best possible streaming experience
  11. Interesting...This sounds like a Wan Show topic.
