  1. This is a sick idea about projecting your games on your wall. Im guessing you could also project it onto your ceiling to make movie nights even better
  2. Thanks for the reply dude, Yeah i have had a reply on another post and ill definatly consider that cpu.
  3. Okay thanks for the info, Cleared alot of questions i had actually Yeah i was curious about have 2 quad cores being the same as an 8 core. I didn't know whether they would work better together than one single one. Ill definitely think about the e5 2670 though because its pretty cheap considering what you actually get. As for rendering video it should do better than my current setup, how much better than my 8 core im not sure but should defiantly be better. Thanks again for the info, Ill leave the thread open so that anyone else can have their input about what i should use
  4. I had a previous post i made on this but i dont think people quite know what i want to do so ill try and re-word it in this one I wanted to have a go at the dual CPU rig that was featured in a video not so long back on LTT channel. Except im not really after gaming performance, More after video rendering and/or video streaming and recording PC. I have had a look at mutliple dual CPU socket motherboards come across this one. --> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SuperMicro-Super-X7DCL-I-Dual-CPU-Server-Motherboard-X7DCL-I-YI001-/252014781841?hash=item3aad406591:g:rpAAAOxyTMdTK3hB It is DDR2 but im not sure which DDR2 would be the best for that motherboard and my application. I also know nothing about graphics cards so would i be able to add at least 1 GPU to it to help with video rendering. And then what CPU do i use with this motherboard, It is an LGA 771 socket i believe. Main goal is cheapest build it can be, and be at least quicker at rendering a 30 min 1080p 60fps video than my current gaming pc can which is around an hour or so. Many thanks
  5. I have an fx 8320 that is overclocked to 4.3 ghz and that only ever gets to high 30's, granted it is under a corsair h100i Id reccomend going with an AIO water cooler if your case can support it.
  6. Hello all, Okie so im looking at having a dedicated streaming/recording rig and possible rendering rig. I have seen the video on the LTT channel about using server grade hardware because its alot cheaper but does propose some challenges. What would you guys suggest for a streaming/recording rig with server stuff in mind, I was thinking of having a motherboard like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SuperMicro-Super-X7DCL-I-Dual-CPU-Server-Motherboard-X7DCL-I-YI001-/252014781841?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368 According to the users manual that i found from supermicro its a duel Xeon LGA 771 Quad Core/Dual Core 5400/5300/5200/5100 Series processors at a front side bus speed of 1333 MHz/1066 MHz To me this means nothing so any possible cpu i could use with this? RAM is the other thing, i havent done any research on this currently because i dont really know what im on about so i would probably be wasting my time. The rendering part to this rig isnt really a requirement because i can already edit/render pretty quickly on my gaming pc but would be nice if it could do the job quicker than i can currently. My gaming pc is an amd 8320 overclocked to 4.3Ghz which is stuck to a gigabyte GA 990fxa with 16gb of ram. I use an xfx r9 290x 4gb card for my main gaming stuff and i do have a spare r9 270x card that i could hopefully use in the streaming/editing rig. Finally, yeah there might be a cheaper way of doing a streaming/recording rig but i kinda like the unique feel it would have if i did decide to go ahead with it. Many thanks guys Tom
