  1. Are they still thinking about releasing these in some way, because I would definitely love to get my hands on a few, or at least the plans for it. I'd pay for it!
  2. I don't understand what you just tried to say to me.
  3. Yeah, that came a bit out of nowhere too. I don't remember Linus ever speaking ill of XMP. What does he suggest then if not enabling XMP?
  4. He kept mentioning the "last time" they tried to build this system and how it went awry. Which video was that? I can't seem to see another video about them building a super rig.
  5. Following Linus' advice from a year ago or so about repurposing a computer into a NAS, I found an incredibly cheap PC on eBay that has an AMD A8-5600K. I just want to know that this would be good enough. I know it might seem like a silly question, but most everything I've read concerning building a NAS deals in Intel chips, whether i3's or Xeons.
  6. Would someone be able to explain to me how exactly they set up the audio when they redid their setup last year? I'm very interested in what and how they routed everything, but I know little to nothing about audio, so I can't imagine how all of the hardware they got interacts with one another.
  7. So obviously 3DMark and the like can benchmark your GPU, but how can I run a benchmark in a game? What program should I be using? Is there a free one? Is there one I can pay for that has extra features?
  8. I wish he had discussed briefly what the Titan XP purpose continues to be. So the 1080ti matches the Titan in gaming applications, cool. But the Titan is still going to be sold for $1200 and Nvidia made it for a reason. So what *can* a Titan do that a 1080ti can't?
  9. I had done a bit of that before and did a little more playing just now, and I think I actually found the right setting I was looking for. The problem I had at first was that I was turning down the gain on the camera and it was just making the sound muddy then. But I think I've got a hold of it now. Thanks for the advice!
  10. I'll do that. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. It's a DSLR, and not exactly intended as a video camera, but it's the best option I have available to me at the moment. Could the audio still be cleaned up, so to speak, in editing?
  11. How would a pop filter reduce the constant fuzz? And I'm not very knowledgeable about audio things, still trying to learn some. What would phantom power do for me exactly? It looks like an external way of powering the microphone, but then what is the sound being recorded to if not the camera?
  12. I've been playing around with some video recording recently. I bought the Sennheiser MKE 440 after reading and hearing many good things about it, and have a Nikon D750 that belongs to my mom. After messing with the settings on the mic and camera in several configurations, I'm finding I can't record the audio at a clear level without noticeable buzz/fuzz/noise. Is there something I can be doing to limit the amount of this occurring while recording? Or how can I clean the sound up when editing the footage?
  13. My Machine Intel Core i7 4770 Asus GTX 760 16GB DDR3 Score 0.1 I knew from the get go I would have to upgrade the graphic card, which I intend on doing once Pascal comes out this summer. I'll add an update to my post when that comes.
