Hi everybody! One year ago (more or less) I was planning to build my first rig... When I first finished the build I had a momentary gpu, a Radeon HD 4800 series... That and some ugly cables prevented me to publishing my build on the forum But... today this baby came: That means I am finally upgrading! new specs: (italic for the upgrade) -Asus Z170 A -Intel 6700k @ 4.6GHz, 1,325 v -Corsair H110 GT -Corsair Rm750i -Corsair Carbide 600C -Samsung 850 EVO 250gb -WD 2TB drive -Toshiba 1TB drive -RX 480 Nitro+ -Sleeved cable extensions Some photos of the old system (All photos were taken with my Umi Plus.. not great photos..): An now the SnowPine PC at its greatest look! A friend of mine is printing some cable combs so that will hopefully look a little better.. I am very happy about how things worked out, let me know what you think about my rig, any comments and suggestions are appreciated (if expressed in an educated way ) Thanks !

there is 9 euros difference between 470 8gb and 480 8 gb... the 480 4gb would be 178.26 prices are in € and with the discount I mentioned before.

Hi LTT! I need some advice from you guys! So... as you can see in my signature my gpu is the black sheep in my system... I'll try to explain my needs so that I can get the best advice on which gpu I should get, in the case I should. I am studying engineering of computing systems in Milan, currently at my first year. When I play I play non demending games, and I really don't care about my fps in AOEIII... Also my monitors are not so good, but I am planning on upgrading them too in the future (ill probably stay on 1080p maybe 1440p). Now lets see what I do with my pc(GPU related), graphics design for the web, application UI design for Java and android applications, I may try to get into some game engine like Unity or Unreal. I would like to get something that is going to last long,lets say 3 years maybe 4, in which my gaming demands will probably decrease (if they can get lower than this...) while the "working" tasks could increase... Also, I don't know if VM's interfere with the GPU also when doing something not strictly GPU related. My budget is around 200 euros, but this week a friend of mine is getting an update and he has a discount so if I decide to get it this week with his order i get around 20% discount. I have looked up at some 1060s and 480s but I'm not sure if that is too much for my needs or not. I also looked up at some 1050tis and 470/60s but in those cases I wasn't sure they will last long enough... Thank you for you advice Luca

Hi LTT! I have recently installed fedora 24 on a pny 32gb usb. When I start my laptop I get to the grub and I am able move in the menu with the arrows and select the option I want. I select fedora and it brings me to type the password (since I have selected the encrypt option. ) I can type in the password but then when it loads and I get at the fedora user login my trackpad and keyboard stop working.Any key I press doesn't do anything nor moving my finger on the trackpad... Any hints,? I gotta say I haven't tried on other machines yet, but I tried to add an external keyboard.Thank youLuca

Thanks, I found something that looks like a part number but googeing it didnt find anything... i installed speccy to see if i could get some information out of it... It says that it is a 666Mhz one but i dont know if it's right, it also says that there are 4 slots but there are clearly 2 not 4.... If it is really 666Mhz it might be worth to remove it and add either 2 new 4gb or one 8gb of some more decent speed...
