Veracrypt is free, open-source and been audited by an independent third-party team. It's still my encryption go-to choice for my Windows+Linux environment.

If you going to do the easy route and only doing it on a desktop, use a DigitalPersona reader. I have personally used it to develop on .NET and Java and the SDK is really complete if you want to do complex stuff later. -
That is a clever hack, now I learn something new. And hey, I consider batch file and xml scripting is programming.

Are you sure that autoplay and autorun are enabled? Enabling autorun/autoplay is bad idea security-wise. You could force it to be enabled via group policy. https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-disable-autoplay-and-autorun-in-windows-10/ If you have time, prefer to detect the device dynamically with C# using InteropServices. https://www.codeguru.com/columns/dotnet/detecting-usb-devices-using-c.html And you can execute the batch script or even customize it yourself.

Do you have a complete error log of that? I use Navicat for testing since I am running linux.

Hmm, that's weird. I tested the queries with the exception of publisher and series table and works without issues. Where do you try to execute this?

You could modify the OS hosts file and send the domain to 0.0.0.0 or you could leverage the modem parental control settings.

Try to uninstall the current driver and install the one available at Windows Update, if still won't work I am afraid that it was hardware issue.
