  1. Finally got it working; I had to flash the bios (even though they were same before I did); I guess the issue was with Spyder 4 Colorimeter, but not sure.
  2. MSI Afterburner won't synchronize between them because Device ID is different: 10DE 17C8 - 1043 855B 10DE 17C8 - 1043 855C BIOS version is different, where do I get the bios? 84.00.4B.00.03 84.00.4B.00.04 The motherboard does support SLI, I use to do SLI with my older cards (before I sold them off two years ago). I have also flipped the SLI bridge to no luck.
  3. Hi tech gurus, I just bought a new 980ti hoping to pair with my older one, but seems like SLI is not working. Nvidia Control panel says bridge not connected. Both cards are Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti, (One is OC Edition - older one, other is Gaming Edition - new one). I have tried with two different SLI bridges (and even a 3 way SLI on 2 way to test). I use to run SLI before with cards from 3 different manufacturers with no issue. I can mine with both cards comfortably so no issue with cards. But my main objective is gaming. Bus Interface is the only possible difference I can see on GPU-Z: PCIe x16 2.0 @ x16 2.0 PCIe x16 2.0 @ x16 1.1 Default clocks also slightly different: (Difference in editions) GPU: 1190 ; Memory: 1800 ; Boost: 1291 GPU: 1000 ; Memory: 1753 ; Boost: 1076 Is the trouble caused by ASUS GPU Tweak II software? How do I forcefully make the clock equal? I am unable to bring down the OC edition low enough to match the gaming one. I don't want to over clock gaming one too much.
  4. Well, Widescreen is widescreen, 4k is not. I prefer my widescreen setup any day. Awesome for immersed gaming. For productivity multiple windows even in Windows 10 is great. In linux if you are using something like i3wm it is a game changer. For video editing that is awesome.
  5. -- http://www.geek.com/chips/digital-storm-mounts-a-geforce-gtx-1080-on-the-back-of-a-34-inch-curved-display-1656686/ It is nice that Digital Storm is making a revolution in making custom built PCs. No cabinet seems like the way to go! There is also a camera that can be hidden easily very well. Overall I like the fact the number of cables is slashed a lot! 6. Looks like my order for 980 ti got cancelled by the seller, probably because seller doesn't have that item anymore, so will probably wait.
  7. ASUS 980 ti STRIX OC, and DELL U3415W 1440p, I've already placed an order. I got great discounts on both.
  8. Budget wise, lets say if I don't have to pay and manage for import to India, I am game for it. (I've imported once, two of my old WASD cherry mx blue/brown keyboards myself)
  9. Not monitor expert? I think you certainly are! Thanks a lot, I saw this after I ordered a DELL. I knew about bleed, but didn't know about coil whine. I'll update my opinion once it arrives. Given that I've a professional spyder4 to calibrate, colors are probably not an issue for me. Again thanks for the great review!
  10. Hi everyone, This is my first post here. (Well actually first was a post whether I am VR ready, which apparently I am not) I have 4 year old desktop, time for an upgrade. My main concern would be performance, and availability in my home country (India). But anything that you think in my long list of items deserves an upgrade let me know. Two of these I've already placed order for an upgrade, I'll list them at the end. And my own thoughts on what other pieces should go. Please please help me, before I spend my fortune building a super computer. And I play every game that fascinates me, too long to even list everything down. I usually don't even complete them, too low attention span :\. I also listen to music whenever I am not playing. (Well, sometimes when playing too). And some bit of coding. Sometimes work, sometimes math/physics simulations for fun. Current Spec: (Click to open) Over time: I bought the second graphics card to put in SLI, because one was just not doing its work. Capture Card had to retire because of twin SLI, and I love my sound card for headphone. It can't drive speakers unfortunately, so I have an external amplifier. Outstanding orders: Monitor: Dell U3415W (34" 1440p widescreen. IPS, 75 Hz?, 5-10ms?) Graphics Card: Asus Geforce 980 ti STRIX OC What annoys me: a) The motherboard is super hard to play with for overclocking. I failed miserably, probably because I got tough luck and got worst processor out of the line. i7 3820 is probably not that great either, after one segment after a fight in Rise of tomb raider, I was getting 30fps, instead of 60-80 fps for the rest of the scenes! I think it was because of too many wounded people in the area, and hence CPU, and probably not GPU. b) Topping TP-22 is not great either, it has significant power leaks to speaker, I can hear grains. Sometimes even grain from different input goes to another input. So a better AMP might help too. c) Blue microphones should ideally work, but it doesn't work over a fair comfortable distance. I seem to have to move it close when I speak for video conferences. d) My UPS has only Indian power ports, and several components are connected daisy chained via a spike-buster. Not cool at all. e) Nothing like i3wm on windows :(, I know this is not a software forum, but I thought windows 10 would solve it. My new Dell 34" monitor supposedly comes with a better tiling software. I am up for another disappointment. f) I should probably upgrade my PSU if I plan to get another 980ti, but that might happen only an year down the line at the earliest. Thank you, sorry for the long post
  11. There was no difference in score with both SLI enabled and disabled. Perhaps it is not SLI ready? Got a score 1.1 with SLI disabled! CPU: i7 3820 @ 3.60 GHz, GPU: SLI , 2x Nvidia Geforce 680 4GB RAM: 3x8GB - Corsair Vengeance Score: 1 (Low)
