First-time poster in need of some input.
As the title says I'm running an i7 870 Oc to 3.5 in my Asus P755D-E Motherboard, 10Gb ram and a MSI GTX 980. Being that I've had my Motherboard, CPU and Ram for the past 6 years which is crazy to think about and how it's still holding strong with Current AAA games only wanting something new is pushing me to lean to an upgrade to a Z170 board and a new CPU.
I've been running Division at Ultra without anything noticeable slowing it down. The only real time I've seen some lag is if I ever try to stream to Twitch. Have you guys had the same experience with Older Gen CPU's? I feel like just upgrading my GPU has kept me with the gaming curve all these years.
Bare in mind i don't do any editing or modeling which tend to be more heavier CPU related tasks. So this is just from a gaming aspect.
Thanks.
