  1. Problem has been solved. It was indeed a faulty adapter. Many thanks for the help! I
  2. So, I nipped home during my lunch and gave your method a shot but it hasn't changed a thing. My next thing to check is the adapter itself because the second monitor (Running through a HDMI lead) works perfectly fine. However, my main screen goes through a Display port into VGA. I plan to purchase a Display port lead into HDMI and give that a go and hope for the best. Adapter has been purchased and it is Display port to HDMI
  3. Ok brilliant. I'll give it a try after work and post my results here. Thanks for the suggestion!
  4. So I recently updated to the latest Nvidia driver and noticed these lines appearing on my monitor. They are only showing up on my first monitor and not on the extended display. I've tried downgrading the driver, changing the res and also changing the VGA cable but to no avail. I have a GTX 1050 2GB (It is the Gigabyte card... I was naïve and broke at the time). Any suggestions/tips would be greatly useful. I'm going over to the new rig I have built in the next week or so anyway but I'd like to keep this one going as well. VID_20180923_233213.mp4
  5. I have managed to fix this issue. I click on the reset network button on 10 which uninstalls and reinstalls network drivers. Thanks for all of the help though. I very much appreciate it.
  6. So i had a look at the windows 10 proxy settings and ethernet setting and it says i am connected and the prxy server is turned off.
  7. I have downloaded them but the apps themselves aren't connecting to the internet and i use SAM Broadcaster V4
  8. It is a problem because i need to use skype but i cannot use the desktop app because none of them are connecting to the internet. Skype, Steam, The Windows Store and a broadcasting tool i use aren't connecting to the internet yet i can use google chrome fine.
  9. As i am speaking, i am on my recently 'fixed' computer and i am using google chrome. I am only able to launch Google chrome for some reason because Microsoft edge closes straight away and IE has an issue connecting to the internet. I do not understand this because i have an ethernet cable plugged in and i am connected to the internet which is how i am writing this but when i try to run skype, the windows store or steam i am getting a "Sorry, cannot connect to the internet" error status but i do not understand why this is appearing. I am clearly connected to the internet and using it. Please can someone help.

  11. So none of that resolved it. I think i am just going to completely format my hard drive to see if it fixes it. If so, i am going to be extremely pissed off.
  12. The motherboard should have speakers because it used to give 2 beeps to say boot was successful.
  13. Oh yes i forgot to mention that. I am receiving no error codes or beep codes. Nothing is shown on the screen and i have ruled out the monitors and cables.
  14. I know that this is a common issue but i cannot find a solution anywhere and the ones i have tried have failed to work. So i have had my PC for just under a year and it is a custom build. Recently, i installed printer drives for an Epson printer and it must've corrupt my hard drive because it failed to boot properly. It also did the same issue on a PC that my father uses. I had put my hard drive into another 64bit windows 10 system so i could use startup repair from a usb and fix any issues with it. This had fixed the hard drive of any issues and it boots correctly and works absolutely fine in that system. I then tried to use it in my custom PC and the system receives power but doesn't display anything on the screen. My GPU, CPU, PSU and case fan have power and spin. The case LEDs are on as well. This made me come to the conclusion that the GPU must not be recognised so i tried it in the other system, updated and reinstalled the drivers and it works perfectly fine. This made me begin to think it must be the mobo itself so i reset the CMOS. Resetting the CMOS also didn't solve the issue. I read that it could potentially be short circuiting on the case or IO shield so i removed it from the case and have it on a cardboard sheet. It is currently idling and display everything i have said previously but still not displaying anything. One thing that is also strange, the mouse and keyboard are not being recognised so i can't even try to f12 into boot setup. I really want this to be fixed because well... it is rather annoying.
