My 5 year old PC decided to off itself this morning and I'm looking for an upgrade. I honestly think the PSU's the problem but I don't know if it's better to make a new PC or if I should fix it and upgrade a few parts. For a bit of context, I am currently student interning as a video editor for a media company and I'm in charge of creating and animating illustrations and text, and doing some light special effects. Because of this, I frequently use After Effects and Photoshop, and sometimes Premiere Pro. I also plan on learning Blender and AutoCAD and Fusion 360. Additionally, using Nvidia's custom resolution tool, I run my editing software at 1080p and play video games at native resolution (1366 x768). I also use RPCS3 (PS3 Emulator) quite frequently (this isn't as important as video editing, but bonus points if you take this into account). IMPORTANT: The footage I'm editing is 1080p RAW -- S Log and C Log. Additional info: if I upgrade my PC, my current mobo will only be able to support 16 GB of DDR3 RAM @ 1.6 MHz and run my CPU at 3.6 GHz. If I ever do decide to just upgrade, I'm thinking of replacing the GPU (to probably a 2070?) and adding RAM and a new cooler. I'm open to both AMD and Intel platforms, but I generally prefer Nvidia for my GPU, but if you think Radeon's better for my use case then by all means!
  2. Opened it up this morning... same thing happened : /
  3. I wrapped my table with cartolina
  4. Ok i just switched from using paper (yes paper) as my mousepad and now im using a QCK+. I've had it for 1 week and it feels so slippery to me. Do you guys have any idea to make it grippy? I have a g502 as a mosue btw
  5. Didn't have to... the store i bought it from already applied some
  6. thanks!! the HDD one worked fine!! thanks! i'm gonna notify you what happens tomorrow when i boot it up again, but for the meantime it fixed it
  7. Yeah it works properly after 4-5 times of restarting : / this consistently happened for 2 days
  8. Ok all of this started when I bought my PC and opened it up around 6 months after..like now. The PC is made to my specifications it has a.. Core i7 4790 Seagate 1 tera HDD MSI N750 Kingston 8GB value RAM MSI H177 (i think) Motherboard Thermaltake 600 watt psu Stock cooler and a Thermaltake Versa h16 Case ... I noticed that the shop didnt have a great job in cable management so i decided to go and try to manage the cables myself (I dont have an anti static collar btw), and took LInus' word for it to touch the PSU when u move. I got the job done like half way and stopped because I realized it's impossible for me to manage everything because i have no experience in making a PC. When i booted up the PC it ran super SLOW like it was running in slow motion or something, or had low frames.. this happens 2/3 times when i boot up.. when i restart it, it kinda fixes it, but i do have to do it like 3 time.. so I'm asking is this the static electricty's fault (and mine i know i suck), can i fix it? and what will i do? Thank you in advance.. You are welcome to be salty... I deserve it
  9. I really want to win the keyboard because I've been gaming on our old HP pavilion a6252d home pc's stock keyboard for like 8 years or so... The WSAD, Shift, F, Enter, Y ,U and Ctrl buttons aren't functioning well so i have a hard time playing and doing school work. The new keyboard will really help me sine i don't really have a budget for a keyboard...
  10. I reaaly want and need the excalibur v2 keyboard because my current keyboard is our old pc's keyboard, an hp pavilion a6252b desktop, some of the keys arent working, and some keys that lost its letter. I really dont need the mouse because my 10 dollar fake "gaming" mouse does the job XD.
