  1. The Tour Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  2. I had the waterblocks on at some point but as I said, I thought it was too much. I love the simple look of the RAM though, and many others that I have spoken too has also said the same thing Wow, thank you Homic!! It is a match made in heaven if you ask me. As you might be able to tell, I am trying to stay away from "Over The Top" builds. sometimes one just has to shoot from the hip! I am happy that you enjoyed it! Btw guys, I have a new project log up, so please check it out if you are interested I will be modding a sponsored Corsair Carbide Air 240 ^^, http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/247332-redefine-air-240-by-metallicacid/#entry3393014 Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  3. Re(de)fine Air 240 Sponsored by Introduction Hello and welcome to my latest project which I have named Re(de)fine. This project is using the Corsair Carbide Air 240 which I will transform into a stylish and sleek performing machine, which will look to belong in the cockpit of a Maclaren Spider supercar. This project should be nice and short as I am aiming to have it completed before DreamHack Winter 2014 in Jönköping - Sweden, which is on between the 27-30 November. For those of you who have not heard of Dreamhack, it is only the world's largest LAN party! The mods that I will be performing Fill in all front USB/power/reset holes at the front with plastic filler Install a single monetary switch in the middle of this newly covered section Repaint entire case white, inside and out. File/sand away all of the plastic bars which cover the areas where the fans draw in fresh air Cover these bare areas with a round style mesh Paint components white to match the newly painted white interior Have a single GPU solution where the GPU sits on a 45° angle making the front face visible through window Install a custom water cooled loop Install custom leather dressed panels Concepts Components TBA Thank you for joining me once again on another project, and as always, see you at the next update! Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  4. BTW guys, I have posted up this project in some galleries, so please give it a vote if you are registered http://www.sweclockers.com/galleri/12771-metallicacids-tj07 http://www.techpowerup.com/gallery/4035.html Kind regards, Justin
  5. Thanks! Haha, that's s stylish name! James May is boss! (But I do not get the reference..) Wow thank you sir! I feel though that I have a million areas which I can improve on though Thank you CJ, I personally love how it turned out too. It is so stealth that they still don't know it is missing ... Thank you Ralph I really let the project decide. If the case has flowing lines then I like bending, but if the project has more straight lines (like the Monolith FT03) Than I prefer straight. Depends on the style I am going for, but I am not partial to one or the other. Those GIFs tho! Thanks! Haha, Penetrator getting hard then wet.. Thank you Thank you for all the internets! I would like to share them to all of you guys Thank you Xeross :D Kind regards, Justin
  6. Sponsored by: Hello and welcome to the final update WOW! What a journey this has been with my still unnamed TJ07 project! With this update I would like to show you the completed build in all of it's glory! Thank you to all of you sponsors for your support in making this the PC that I had imagined using your products! This project started over a year ago when I bought a SilverStone Temjin TJ07 second hand from a local man.. I started designing ideas in SketchUp and eventually came up with a design that I (and you guys ) enjoyed. A few months went by when a friend of mine asked me to build this computer for him. Fast forward a few months of slow but sure progress, and here we have the finished product!! Personally, I think that this PC looks spectacular!! I love the black on black with just a little hint of grey and carbon black highlights. Very stealthy and understated. The finished project contains the following hardware: Intel Core i7 4930K ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition X79 G.Skill Ripjaws Z DDR3 PC19200/2400MHz CL10 4x8GB x2 (64GB total) Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB x3 (Trifire) Samsung 840 EVO Series 500GB x2 NB-BlackSilent Pro 120mm x6 SilverStone ST1200-G 1200W EK Coolstream PE 480 EK Coolstream PE 240 EK-RES X3 250 x2 EK-FB ASUS R4BE Monoblock - Acetal+Nickel EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal+Nickel (Rev.2.0) x3 EK-FC R9-290X Backplate - Black x3 Alphacool VPP655 - G1/4 IG complete with D5 HF Top EK HD fittings and adapters NSFW WARNING!! Oh and get some popcorn Thank you everyone for following my project! I have 2 more to be completed before the end of the year, so keep your eyes on my Facebook page for the build log links See you at the next project! Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  7. It would be an honour to work with Han It should be finished this week my friend Then once my S-Frame comes I will mod that... And once that mod is finished I will dismantle the TJ07 and build the S-Frame with some of those parts. Then when that project is built up, it will be sold off to support the project using G-Tek's Osmi case The shipping will be a pocket burner. We want to try and keep it local at first, kind of like a Stockholm mod. There might be other cities that can create there own etc. Once we branch out then the person who is modding will pay the shipping fee to the next person etc. But hopefully the shipping of the PC will be very minimal. Thank you DaytimeElk! Kind regards, Justin
  8. Thank you mate! I am honoured that you have come out of hiding to comment on my build log Hope you stick around for the grand finale! Snef might be a bit tricky as he is so far away, but Pope might be up for something.. Some friends and I are thinking of starting a local modding expedition where one person starts modding a case, then sends it to the next person who does something, then sends it again to someone else etc. etc. until the PC is completed. One day it might even get shipped out of Sweden to say, Denmark if we get some sponsors on board for the idea. BTW, update coming soon guys /J
  9. Cheers! No sir, you are! I followed a guide and much other helpful info on overclock.net. Here you can find it http://www.overclock.net/t/1280153/pipe-bending-101/0_40 I have been hiding this thread under a rock all this time. The client decided to use other GPUs instead I thought that the 780's would have been best, but I guess he needed the VRAM. Never sir! /J
  10. It was an experience. It was fun when we were actually competing, but it as boring between filming. We were there from 0830-0300 though, and there was no heater in the building. It was like 10c outside.. /J
  11. Sponsored by: Hello and welcome! It has been quiet these last few weeks regarding this project as all of my family including myself have shared a nasty cold, which we have been battling for the last 3 weeks or so. This means that our daughter was home from preschool and we were also home looking after her This did mean no modding though, but I have almost finished my own website which will launch soon! In this update, I started the tubing for the water cooling loop, beginning with the drain, and from the radiators up to the main cabin. I have to say that I love working with the chromed copper tubing, which I regard much easier to work with when compared to hard acrylic tubing. And those shiny looks, OH MY GAWWD does it look killer! I have this Monday and Wednesday (around 10 hours total) of which I plan on completing this project provided I get some extra right angled fittings before Wednesday. Other than tubing, I just have to sleeve one more PCIE cable, the pump cable, SATA power and data cables and install the LED strips. Please let me know of what you think of the progress so far PSU and rad installation: Drain installation: 480 radiator to main chamber: 240 radiator to reservoir Pump tubing: No mistakes yet, just adjustments for pipes that were too long: Thank you for checking out this project everyone, especially you who have been with me from the very beginning since last year. It is a great feeling to see this project come to maturity, and I hope you have enjoyed the build log thus far! Kindest regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  12. I will consider reviving the Maverick nickname that I had until I moved from Australia to Sweden Kind regards, Justin
  13. How about that donation Haha! If the Monolith FT03 doesn't get sold though, it means that I will have to buy a laptop with the money that I was saving for a CNC mill.. And I really want a mill! /J
  14. It is so sexy.. I am sorry mate but I cannot name the parts in the essentials packet.. I have never been a packet kind of guy Thanks man, will do! I have been slow with updates as my daughter had been really sick, but I plan on making much progress this weekend. Stay tuned bro! Kind regards, Justin
  15. Haha. It is not 100% certain that I can/will sell it. I want to see if my "brand" is worth more than the combined total of the parts. I also need a laptop very soon as I have to be able to do my designing where ever I am. I am pulling many graveyard shifts now, and every 3 weeks I will have nothing to do. If I have a worthy laptop, I can crank out alot of designs that anyone can buy for their own PC, designed by MetallicAcid Customs. Besides, it's just a computer. If I reinvest into more parts, it means that I can make another project Kind regards, Justin P.S If you guys do not want me to sell, you can always donate to me via Paypal
  16. Södertälje Specialsnickeri AB Sweden Hello everyone! I have a nice little watercooling update coming at you! This update involves installing the GPU blocks onto the GPUs, then installing them onto the motherboard - and installing the dual reservoirs onto the angled plate! I have to say, I personally love how this build is shaping up! Firstly, let us take a look at the GPU blocks made by EK Waterblocks. Next up are the reservoirs, also make by EKWB. So as a short written update, I have started drilling holes through the midplate for the monoblock and GPU bridge, and really got thinking about how I wanted the loop to go. I need to make a bracket for the top of the angled plate as this plate with the reservoirs installed is top heavy, and I wish to give it a little extra support. I hope you all have enjoyed this update Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen P.S It was really awesome meeting you guys at the Intel's Kitchen competition!
  17. On set with MetallicAcid! It was a fun event, the expo had tons of fun stuff for us to do, and I love that they are making a good feature lenght show about building PCs, it wasn't just some random greenhorn making this happen, or a youtuber, it was a full blown production! The show will air on Intel's Kitchen's website http://intelskitchen.com/ when the timer runs out, note it will be in swedish, but even if you don't understand it you might enjoy it anyways? Maybe they will subtitle it? who knows Nice pic, and thread there mate! Hope you had a good time BTW you guys got more goodies than we did. We walked away with the new Call of Duty game only... My nickname growing up was Maverick haha! /J
  18. Södertälje Specialsnickeri AB Sweden Hello and welcome again to another update! This is another sponsor announcement - And this time Coolerkit.se has stepped up to give us a nice discount on all of the following watercooling items! Thank you Anders for joining this project, and believing in my work. This means that I have 99% of what I need to get this project completed. I just need a vibration sponge for the pump, some small fittings and Plastidip to paint the GPU brackets. Those updates are coming soon! Thank you for reading, and see you at the next update! Kind regards, Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
  19. I wish I could install 4 cards without having to get a new PSU. But there is no money left in the budget for that upgrade Cheers! Really cleans things up Only a few weeks to go my friend. The final stretch.... I am sorry that you no longer enjoy it's looks. Perhaps when it is finished you might turn to like it? Have faith! Dem fans tho... Kind regards, Justin
  20. I am not sure. That is up to the person I am build for to decide /J
  21. Hey everybody! Since completing my last project, the Monolith FT03, I have gotten my arse into gear to finish this TJ07 before the end of this month. I will try and keep you guys up to date on what is going, and have at least one update a week. In this update, I have gotten in almost all of the parts required to get this project finished. I am just waiting on the GPU blocks from coolerkit.se. With this update I would also like to announce BlackNoise as a sponsor, who have given this project 6 of their Noiseblocker NB BlackSilent Pro 120mm PL-2 fans. Here is what they look like Once I checked out and installed those beauties, I had a look at the 4 AMD R9 290's which was sent to me for the project. Do not worry my friends, these will be water cooled, and these original coolers will be scrapped for the sake of humankind. I got in a brand spanking new Intel Core i7 4930k as well. Let's check it out! After I had finished drooling on the CPU, I went ahead and installed it on the motherboard, then swapped out the EK motherboard blocks for this beautiful uniblock. This will really tidy things up reducing the amount of fittings from 6 to just 2. I also decided to remove the RAM water cooling blocks as they are not needed, and create unnecessary mess/fittings/tube routing. Where is what it all looks like during and after installation. Other things that I would like to mention is that I have bought a pipe bender, pipe cutter and chromed piping for this build. The tube bending will start this Saturday, and hopefully the GPU blocks have come in so I can get this sorted out. Also, I will have to mod the Cold Zero motherboard extension plate as the holes for the GPUs no longer match up with the amount of GPUs that will be installed. I will be installing just 3 cards, as the Silverstone 1200w PSU will not handle the 4th card This also means that I have to cut an extra hole into the extension tray to accommodate this extra GPU. I think that is about it for this update guys. I hope that I have not kept you waiting too long, but with tight budgeting and parts costing as much as they do, it was unavoidable. But this said, from now on it should be short and sweet! Cheers! Justin "MetallicAcid" Ohlsen
