  1. Oh great! I didn't even come across that gen when looking at what is compatible with my current motherboard! At a quick glance it looks like I can actually get a 9600k for under $150 at the moment right now as well. Just noticing I will have to upgrace the mobo actually, so I may look into the 10600k platform as that is around the same price.
  2. Budget (including currency): Flexible, under $300 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: primarily gaming at 4K 60 fps Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): CPU: i7-6600k RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance (DDR4) GPU: MSI Gaming X GTX 1080 Ti PSU: Enermax Revolution SFX 550W I'm finally getting to the point of wanting some more performance out of my rig. I've been able to run around at 4k 60 FPS on decent quality settings on most games I play but newer games are starting to noticeably be more taxing and causing FPS dips or spikes. My CPU is bottlenecking the GPU so I'm looking for an upgrade there. I'm not after the latest and greatest, just something newer than what I currently have but will likely buy used to save some money. I did a quick search and see that I can get a 7700k for ~$150. Would that give me a real noticeable difference or am I better off getting a newer gen mobo and CPU? If so, what generation would be around my price range? I know my PSU does not really have any headroom as is and I know a lot of newer gen stuff is very power hungry, so I'm open to either Intel or AMD but ideally looking to replace the least amount of parts. Thanks!
  3. I can't find it anywhere and want to watch it. Anyone know where to look? I have a Floatplane subscription as well.
  4. Thank you! So far the PSU has been perfectly fine, no issues. I even have a pretty decent overclock on the GPU and CPU.
  5. until

I saw it up for a bit but when I went to watch it now it’s removed from both YouTube and Twitch. Did they accidentally leak something?
  6. I don’t seem to have a SATA Mode Configuration anywhere under the admavced menu.
  7. Hey everyone,I've recently purchased a new SSD to take advantage of the m.2 slot on my motherboard. I have an ASUS Z170i PRO GAMING motherboard. I'm currently running an SSD and HDD over sata and a GPU in the pci-e slot.I picked up a Western Digital Black NVMe drive (link) but I'm out of ideas to get it to work. Yes, it is fully seated and screwed into place. After hours and hours of research I've yet to make any progress... It seems like I'm missing some settings in the bios compared to other people and I've just recently installed the newest version available. Does anyone have any ideas or did I just waste $120?Currently at wits end because it seems like this shouldn't be that difficult of a process but I'm stumped. Here's some screen shot of the bios.https://imgur.com/a/n8fclPP Does anyone have any ideas?
  8. Yeah, it wasn’t easy and I had to modify the case a bit to fit a radiator above the mobo and to fit the massive MSI 1080 ti. Both the CPU and GPU run around the 60-70° range under load. I wish the mobo didn’t have the massive vrm heatsink, to be honest. It blocks about a third of the radiator.

Pretty stoked with how it turned out! Making the cables was tedious as hell but make a huge difference in this tiny case, looks and airflow equally! I want to ditch the HDD and get a 1TB SSD and replace the current SSD with an m.2 drive. 8288 in Fire Strike: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/31490967?
  10. I ran it in safe mode. Tried GeForce experience didn’t work. Got the driver from Nvidias website and it still just said “not compatible with this version of Windows” so that didn’t work either. Running at 4K on a 60 FPS monitor. But like I said, I had essentially the same GPU on a cheaper motherboard and was getting 150 FPS in Heaven.
  11. So I uninstalled all the drivers. Reinstalled GeForce experience and installed the latest driver that was available but now it says “the standard nvidia driver is not compatible with this version of Windows.” I’m running Windows 10 and it wasn’t an issue before. Any ideas?
  12. Running the ddu software right now. And yes, same settings as before. Ultra preset with the full screen option turned on. Average FPS of 38, highest was 87. Before my average was almost 150 FPS. Hipefully the driver sweep fixes it but I assumed since it was the same chipset no real issues would be there since I went from the 970 to the first 1080 ti without running that ddu program and didn’t have any issues. I’m just hoping the GPU isn’t broken or something since I purchased it used.
  13. So I swapped out all the parts and turned on the PC. Went into GeForce experience and installed the latest driver that said was available.
  14. Hey everyone, I recently upgraded my graphics card from a 970 to a 1080 Ti. Originally I bought an MSI GAMING GTX 1080 Ti and a cheap H81 mobo and had pretty decent results. I then upgraded to an Asus Maximus VI mobo and an MSI GAMING X GTX 1080 Ti and my GPU scores are way worse. My average FPS in heaven benchmark on ultra is 38 FPS now, even though my cpu is now running at 4.7 GHz instead of 3.8. What gives? Is the silicon lottery really that much of a difference? I feel like the FPS should be much higher.
