    just get the 2 4gb sticks. then it leaves you room for more ram later on. also saves you the hassle of selling ram sticks if you ever wanted to upgrade. also the type of ram does not matter what speed it is. most people wont notice it. as linus would say. only way you would notice it though is if your running an apu processor or running on integrated video then you will want faster ram speeds. so id buy ram for just looks. i got pair of ripjaws myself 1333mhz and doesnt effect my performance or anything. what does affect performance is hard drive. and thats why i have an ssd

    errr....i think i know what your asking.....i would say go for getting 2x4gb if you can.......can you tell me the prices of the options you have

    2x4gb = $XXX

    4x2gb = $XXX

    i think you should go fo r the 2x4gb if it doesnt cost much more than 4x2gb.....

    Don't get 4 sticks. You generally want 2 sticks of 4GB so you can add more in the future without getting rid of your old ones.
    What's your currency?

    I've read that numerous owners of the UD3 board had throttling issues even when the CPU was running at stock, so I'd recommend playing it safe and getting the M5A99FX .

    that is why its comes with an instruction manual ;) it is uefi, at least rev 3.0 onwards is. it's pretty simple to use as they are mainly all the same anyway.

    I have the UD3 but its rev.1. I have no problem with the BIOS but there is one thing that is weird on my board for overclocking I can't overclock my 6300 without under-clocking the HT. Idk if its my set-up or the board but its quality it has survived for going on like 3 years overclocked on a Phenom and FX.

    The Asus board has all round better features, & better overclocking potential.
    The Gigabyte board is sligthly cheaper, & its all black look might swing you towards it, in that case I'd wait for the new revision which has significantly better north-bridge & voltage regulator cooling, the current revision of the Gigabyte UD3 board has throttling issues, which would make overclocking extremely difficult.

    I hope this helps.

    You have to play the silicone lottery, you may yield gold or you could be left in the dirt(my amd phenom wouldnt oc one bit without spazzing out). But the motherboard side is fine for decent overclocks.
