I got one of those cards, I think mine is a Radeon HD 6350. When I got it, I went to my schools IT department and asked really nicely if they had a spare adapter that could "go missing", and they were happy to oblige.

When it comes to customer support, I absolutely love Logitech, back when I was a simple laptop gamer, I had this incredibly cheap Logitech headset, i think it was the H150. That thing broke on me about 3 or 4 times, and every time I contacted Logitech, they replaced it no problem, and let me keep the old headset. Another time, the scroll wheel on my original G502 stopped clicking in. I contacted Logitech, and they actually replaced the mouse with the newer Proteus Spectrum model. They let me keep the old one, which is still used by my brother to this day. Not sure if I got lucky with these encounters, but they have gained a lot of trust from me.

Never done a bottleneck quite that rough! What ended up happening? How bad was it?

I do have that 6600k Oc'd to 4.3Ghz from its 3.5, so I would worry about my 6 year old CX running a 3080. Maybe do some bizarre dual PSU setup? I like to treat my parts with respect, but sometimes you gotta get a little crazy...

Thats a good point, although I wonder how my CX600M PSU would fair with the 3080? It might work fine as a temporary solution, kinda similar to what you did.

For example, I am most likely going to get an RTX 3080, but when I end up purchasing it, I will not be putting it in my system immediately. My old i5 6600k is limping along at this point, and I want to wait until the Ryzen 4000 series comes out (hopefully soon!) to see that performance bump. I was just wondering if anybody else does this kind of practice, and if so, what was your reason for the wait?

I want an SSD because I dont have one but have been trying to get one for a while but i only have 105 dollars and i am trying to save up for a new processor and motherboard to retire my old fx 6300.
