I was feeling inspired by various LinusTechTips videos and reviews that I felt like my PC case needed an upgrade (as did my cable management). I also wanted to get a better WiFi solution, upgrading from an old USB dongle.
Everything arrived on the weekend so I took all my components out of my old case (placing them on an anti-static mat while wearing the anti-static wrist strap too). I took this opportunity to remove the CPU cooler (a Prolimatech Megahalems), clean off and replace the thermal paste and re-attach the CPU cooler. Having done this I then continued to put everything into my new Fractal Design Define R5 case. Once all installed, I tidied the cables into the best cable management I have ever done and put it back in place ready to turn on.
System booted up and said the CPU had changed, no doubt because I had removed and re-seated it while changing the thermal paste. So after going through the BIOS and restarting, I managed to get through the POST screen and onto the Windows 10 splash screen with the spinning dots. Then it happened - the spinning dots stopped as soon as they appeared and after 2 minutes the system rebooted got back to the Windows 10 splash screen, this happened a few times before the automatic repair kicked in and again, the spinning dots stop and the system reboots without getting into the repair.

Troubleshooting so far:
I'm confident this is unlikely going to be an issue with the SSD as the various different boot attempts failed, so am left thinking either there is a lose cable shorting things and I need to undo some of the cable management to find it or part of the system (likely motherboard or RAM) is dead.
Hoping you all can give me some ideas as I really want to get back to playing XCOM 2, Fallout 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider!
