    Tubes on top

I'm doing some work for a friend. He has a PC that is the main workhorse. (Buissness no gaming) The PC has an I9 14900k with an EK Nucleus AIO CR360. I noticed that the tubes at the top of the block. Is it worth messing with? The Radiator is at the top.
  3. You will see massive improvements.
  4. That's not the best power supply. I would replace that if you are going to spend money on upgrades. Try to get something at least teir C on this list: https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ For the CPU I would get the Ryzen 5 5600 (non x) for $120 For GPU I would look at the Rx 6700xt for around $300. If that's too much, let us know your budget.
  5. It could still be the power supply. Just because it can power low power devices, doesn't mean that's not the problem. Its probably the Motherboard or power supply.
  6. Unplug everything but the power cord. Try starting it. If that doesn't work, see if it starts up without the GPU. Then one ram stick at a time.
  7. Not worth it. Most laptops don't have interchangeable GPUs anymore. The ones that did took MXM graphics cards. Those cards were just not available at retail and were way to expensive on ebay. Best you can do is a laptop with a thunderbolt port and an external GPU. Otherwise just a cheap rtx 3050 laptop for $500 or less.
  8. Try discharging the PC. Unplug the PC and hold down the power button for 15 seconds. If that doesn't work, try removing the cmos battery and then discharge the PC.
  9. I got another really cheap DELL t5810. I upgraded with an $8 e5-1650 v3 as usual. In the past I have used GTX 1070s in these systems and it was a great pairing. This time I got too bold. The 1070s were over $100. Closer to $110. And I saw an RX 5700xt (reference) for $125. So I pulled the trigger. But I'm getting bottlenecks at 1080p Heaven and timespy ran great. But Hogwarts is getting slammed. I'm getting 50% - 60% GPU usage. COD is closer to full usage but drops into the 70% usage. I haven't tried other games yet. Any guesses as to which games will be bottleneck the worst? How much will higher resolutions help?
  10. I don't know about the cooler, but I have put a GTX 1070 in a t5810 and in ran gear. I just put a blower 5700XT in one and that will get bottlenecked in some games. In Hogwarts Legacy I'm getting 50%-60% GPU usage.
  11. Unless you're ready to drop at least $800, I would wait for the next generation of cards.
  12. Average used price on ebay seems to be $330. No idea why. New ones are $360 for 2 free games. But it would be in a system. So there would be a little of an upsell
  13. I build PCs as a hobby and then I sell them. It's not a real business as I don't make much. Probably between $25 and $100 a build. I just got an open box powercolor RX 6800 (non xt) from Microcenter for $425. I have a Microcenter charge card so I got 5% off of that and I sold the game code for $50. So the gpu cost about $390 after taxes. My personal rig has an rx 6700xt. I'm thinking of keeping the 6800 and using the 6700xt in a build. I would value the 6700xt as $300 in a build. TLDR: is it worth $90 to upgrade from a 6700xt to a 6800?
  14. I prefer velcro. But adapters are cheap if you want one. https://a.co/0zMVF0O
  15. Bottlenecks could be a consideration. If your system can't utilize a 1070, then it may not make sense to pay extra for one. If your system can handle it, I would need a 1070 to be closer to $110 to $115. $150 doesn't make sense when a brand new 6600 is as low as $220 and Newegg has open box ones for $200.
  16. Steam deck I wasn't sure what section this belongs in. Steam Deck is available to buy now without reservation. Ships in 1 to 2 weeks.
  17. I don't know how much the 6650 xt is in the UK, but in the US it's as low as $285 on Newegg. Makes it a no Brainer for me
  18. I'm running a 6700xt and I love it. But it doesn't play so nice with fortnite. If that's the main game you are playing, or other games using unreal engine I would suggest a 3060ti. Otherwise the 6700 xt is a great card and the 12gb of vram will age better.
  19. Thermalright makes excellent budget coolers. This $19 Cooler is plenty for a 5600x https://a.co/d/2gCS9S1 If you want to go overboard you can spend $35 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU Air Cooler, Dual Tower 6 Heat Pipe, Dual 120mm https://a.co/d/hHvxR4t
  20. There is no way to answer this question without seeing 3rd party reviews on the card.
  21. I wouldn't drive 3 hours. But if you are in the area, they have the best CPU prices plus $20 off of a motherboard when you buy both. The also have great open box deals. An I5 12400 is $180. And there are some $25 coupons floating around online.
