  1. It's most likely a PSU issue maybe you are not getting an stable current, it's known that electrical devices behave in a wired way while they are powered with an old or broken power supply, so I suggest to try your rig on a different PSU
  2. I was on a trip and I disconnected my PC from a power source on a few days, when I came home and plug my PC to the power I noticed that my CPU fan was spinning but very slowly, when I press the power button nothing happens and when I keep it pressed CPU fan still spins, so far I know that my motherboard is dead because I tried to power it up manually(Screwdriver method) and changed the PSU that was powering it but somehow all fan headers on my motherboard work when motherboard is plugged to the PSU, has anyone encountered anything like this? share your strange PC deaths down below
  3. Put your hardware here https://pcpartpicker.com/ it will give you all the info that you need, Good luck on your build
  4. As an experienced programmer(7+ years) I can say that programming is extremely stressful and takes time, patience and "balls of steel", but frustration is a good sign it shows that you are productive and it drives you forward, also coding can be very slow TV-shows are unreal and full of s*it, but with experience comes lighting fast coding, so just stick with it and results will come
  5. After searching on google and going thru many websites that talk about hardware lifespan I couldn't find a definitive answer does OC(in frequency and/or voltage) on CPU and/or GPU lowers 'expected' lifespan of that unit. Collecting data for this topic would take years to complete and it's results would never be up to date, so lets look at this topic from a standpoint that we all well know(unless you care about your warranty and you have never OC'd in your life) increase in frequency on GPU and CPU always ends up with ether better FPS or BlueScreenOfDeath, but I haven't heard it actually killed hardware, on the other hand increase in voltage does make an unstable frequency more "stable" but there is always an point where system is going to crash and too much voltage can shorten out and kill hardware, but do we know if it actually reduces hardware lifespan under the assumption that we found OC sweet spot where our computer is perfectly stable? Post your toughs below, also this could be a great topic for a video from LMG GameSpot has an great article about it: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/overclocking-for-beginners/1100-6421190/
  6. I would like to get that super cool keyboard so I could match it with my super cool custom painted case(NZXT s340[White-Blue theme]) in order to get super cool workspace that has an super cool white-blue theme. sorry for the super cool post, now give me a super cool keyboard!
  7. I have decided what components I will put in to my new PC, but color scheme is a bit difficulty to chose, I have a blue PSU(Blue Storm II) with blue cables also Gigabyte GA 990XA UD3 blue motherboard, everything else is black except the case(nzxt s340) that can be in white or black color scheme, so should I go with the white case or should I take the black one?
  8. Great build, I agree with everything here, well done
  9. If I were you with this amount of money in my hands I would do something very stupid, but like the 9gag community says if it's working it isn't stupid, I wouldn't buy 8GB of ram, instead I would get 4GB(you can always get some more later), I would buy 512GB HDD(much cheaper and you can add another HDD later) and the last item I wouldn't buy is the case it self(you can easily make a case from plastic crates and zip ties and air flow isn't a priority with your budget + it would be free) with this you have saved 140$ to allocate for a better graphics card I would suggest R9 380 that would fit your price range perfectly
  10. Hello, in six or five months I will build my first PC, after weeks and weeks of research for components that will fit my budget that is aprox. 600USD I found almost everything I need. First I was thinking that Black-Blue theme would be nice but since my case(IN WIN 503) has an red strip on in I have changed my idea in to Black-Red build, your video on painting PC components will come in handy because I will paint my PSU(Blue Storm II 500W) to red, everything else about the new PC is standard (R9 380, 4gb ddr3 ram, ASROCK 970 EXTREME3 R2.0 , and AMD FX X8 8300). My old PC will be given away to someone that can't afford such 'luxury' and with GTS 8800 640mb and Intel 2core 2.6GHz it will serve them well. Here is full part list for my new PC: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZnTPMp I've would need two LED strips in red color.
  11. Build your PC on this website, it will tell you everything you need to know(compatibility, power usage, best price, etc..) https://pcpartpicker.com
  12. I am building my first PC out of scratch so I found a graphics card(Radeon R7 360), but I couldn't find out what amount of wats does it need so I can't know if I need a new power supply. Right now I have platinum MS-400ATX P4, also if someone cares this will be my future setup and I am not 100% if it will work, because I am new to building PCs
