  1. Update: After reading everyone's answers as well as some other online posts, I decided to retry applying thermal paste, this time focusing on getting very good coverage on the sides, something that was highly recommended to get decent temps. I used the "5 dots" method, applying a pea-sized glob of thermal paste in the middle and 4 smaller dots on top of each core (think of the "5" face of a dice, where the corners of the dice correspond to the corners of the CPU). This appears to have lowered my temps by a very significant margin, about 10 degrees both at idle and under load, making the temps much more reasonable. Path of Exile is notably MUCH more fluid in heavily crowded areas, as the CPU isn't throttling anymore. I will have to keep an eye on it but it seems to be resolved for now, thanks again for everyone's help!
  2. It was some time ago but it was what I would consider a reasonable amount, if anything, a bit on the heavier side but nothing crazy
  3. After running it for 10mins, it seems to have stabilized at around 92-93c (with the sidepanel off)
  4. Thanks for the suggestions, I will try and change my CPU's fan curve, although I don't mind the idle temps being relatively high as long as I know everything's okay, I'm more worried about being able to hit the CPU's max temp during gaming (although Path of Exile may not be your average game for CPU load)
  5. Sorry, 95c under load was without the side panel off. Using CPU-Z's stress test, I reached max temps of about 92c, although it didn't run for that long but seemed to be pretty stable.
  6. Hi, I should probably have adressed this issue before but I never realized how bad it was. I purchased a Ryzen 5 3600 some time ago, installed it without much issues and since then it has been working just fine besides the fact that I'm getting VERY high temps, whether it is at idle or during heavy loads. At Idle, or with nothing but my browser opened, I will usually be between 45 and 55 degrees, and when playing a game like Path of Exile it goes up to 95 degrees (probably because it is the limit) but averages about 89-90 degrees. I already noticed this issue before and assumed it was because of dry thermal paste so I went ahead and replaced it but it doesn't seem to have changed anything. I think the cooler was mounted properly and the sticker on the underside of the cooler peeled as well. The issue also happens with the case opened, so I doubt it is strictly an airflow issue. Lastly, I also checked and don't think I'm running any kind of overclocking, my Ryzen Master tells me I'm using the default OC settings and using the "Load optimized defaults" option in my Bios didn't net any change. I'm also noticing that my GPU is running at around 56-60 degrees at idle, although the fans don't seem to be running so I'm not sure whether it is relevant or not. I'm kinda running out of options here so any suggestion is welcomed, thank you for your help!
  7. Hi, I recently purchased an ESI Maya USB 22 off Thomann and ran into a few troubles : After opening it, I searched for the newest drivers from their website and installed them without any issue, I instantly saw 2 new audio outputs appear, one considered as a main ouput with a speaker icon and the other one as a digital output for channel 3 and 4, the problem however is that while I do get sound plugging my stereo line out outputs into my monitors, I don't get any sound from my headphones output and my guitar line in input doesn't seem to work either While I thought this was a faulty unit, I realised that the problem was a bit more complicated after installing it on my desktop computer and having my headphones out instantly work using the same drivers I used before with no additional work required Both use Windows 10 64bits and I'm a bit lost as to what the problem could be, I'm assuming this is some kind of driver issue but installing the Realtek audio manager didn't do much for me, except that the Realtek HD audio software doesn't seem to be working at all Thanks a lot for your help !
  8. Oh that's a good idea, it is indeed split into two jack outputs, and I do have that adaptator somewhere, sadly won't be able to do it until saturday, but wouldn't it mean I have to give up the headphone input ? Or are you saying I should only plug the microphone jack into said adaptor and plug it into my interface ? Thanks a lot for your help !
  9. Hi, I've had an external soundcard (Komplete Audio 6) for more than a year now, and while it can sometimes be a pain to configure, I'm overall very satisfied of this purchase However, there is one problem I can't seem to find an answer to, which is that I can't plug my microphone (HyperX Cloud) and it doesn't pick up any sound at all : -The microphone is working, as I am using right now directly plugged to my computer and speaking to friends -The jack adapter I'm using is working fine too because it is the one I usually use to plug my headphones into my DAC -I use both front inputs regularly, one with a microphone (Shure SM57) and the other one is used to plug my guitar in, they both work completely fine as I use them for recording and get absolutely great sound -My gain knob was maxed and I made sure that I was using the "Line" -I tried using one of the inputs on the back with no success either, I also unplugged every other mic -I didn't use Phantom power At this point, I feel like I'm running out of options, do I need to change the software setup ? Thanks a lot for your help !
  10. Hello, I've had my Yamaha HS80M for around a month and a half, and I've had issues with my sound system for a while (buzzing noises,...) and tried to diagnose them myself, however, being a novice, I didn't realize you had to turn off the speakers before unplugging or cutting the power on the power strip, so I did quite a lot of times.... the white noise seems to have worsened, may I have damaged my speakers' power supply ? I've got white noise playing on my tweeters even when my balanced cables are unplugged, the buzzing that my balanced cables were picking up from my PC also worsened, it is pretty noticeable in a calm environnement now, annoying enough that I've to put headphones on because of the high frequencies emitted in a calm environement Should I bring my speakers to a professional ?
  11. It's okay, it's not that bad, I just hate spending hundreds of euros on quality products and having unknown issues with it, I'm actually glad to know it wasn't something I did wrong but rather something out of my control I will call the realtors (I think that's what you call the society managing appartments and houses ?) and ask them about it I guess
  12. Okay, I finally found the goddamn issue, my room is indeed not ground properly, which is very strange because as I said earlier, all the wiring in the house was done a few years back, which means it has to be grounded by law where I live I managed to have no noise on my speakers by plugging my extender into the bathroom (which has been required to have a ground by law for a few decades, so you can be sure it has it), and surprise, no noise on the speakers, no noise touching the metallic parts of my case with the tip of the cable,... I also used the same power strip and everything, so it has to be coming from the wiring of my apartment, I guess I will have to talk with my roomates about it later... Thanks a lot for your help again, I can finally go to sleep at 3:27 AM!
  13. Yes, it is a 3-prong power strip and I'm using 3-pronged power cables for both my speakers and my computer (as well as my monitor) and all the wiring in my appartment as been redone up to code a few years ago, so it should be grounded properly
  14. Checked it, tried launching a benchmark (to hear the coil whine on my speakers), then unplugging EVERYTHING from my computer : Screen, mouse, keyboard all other peripherals, while my computer itself was plugged to another wall socket (via an extender cord), I also tried moving the audio cables so that they're not near any power source, tried unplugging only one speaker, removing everything uneeded from my power strip,... and it made 0 difference What I realized however was that not only do the speakers emit the coil whine sound just by touching any metallic part of my audio interface, but they also do it by touching any metallic part of my computer with the tip of the cable, and it also work by touching the tip of the USB cable of my DAC to any metallic part of my case. I'm no expert but it makes me guess that either my computer (motherboard probably) isn't properly grounded or my speakers aren't. Also, as I said earlier, my headphones aren't picking up any noise at all no matter where I plug them If anyone has any idea where to start considering what I just said, I would be very glad, because I feel like I'm running out of ideas at that point Thanks again for your help!
