  1. from what that says to me is more cores the better (to a certain degree, so the xeon should be better, also you can use ECC with the xeon so that might be a small benefit for you)
  2. I don't know what hardware your software wants but the i5 is faster in single and quad core performance and slower in multi threaded workloads, and the 950 is much faster than the 1030 so I suggest getting a 950 either way (if possible) and for the CPU either the i5 if your workloads more single threaded or xeon if it's multithreaded (like OBS) I do not know if and if your trading software can use more than 1 core
  3. I assumed that, but yea the main problem here is because no ones tried it (as fast as I know) and there isn't massive public details about OLED, and because I can't be fucekd reading it all to work out how everything works etc. And because each phone drivers will be diffrent there is just too many unknowns to know for certain
  4. Due to it not having a iGPU in theory and in practice (to some degree) the CPU will be able to overclock higher and run cooler. But this does not meen that it is a better CPU for you, as the iGPU is sometimes a life saver when debugging what has broken with your PC this time. Also can in certain workloads be utilised to speed up the applications, so they are faster than what they would run at even without the iGPU and overclocked
  5. Maybe, but it is not recomended. But if you do do it, and the the phone does not officially support the OLED diplay, there is five posible outputs I can forsee 1) The wiring between the two screens are significantly diffrent so that everything breakes/blows up/released their magic blue smoke and dies 2) The wiring is diffrent and it doesn't work but your phones a soilder and powers through letting you swap back to your old screen 3) The wirings are diffrent but not massively so it works but it looks worse or operation is not as expected and it's not a good experience and you wish you had your old LCD back 4) The Wirings are diffrent but to an extent that the experience is the same as the LCD so nothing is gained 5) The wiring and software support the new OLED and you now have an OLED phone which works perfectly. 1 or 2 is the most likely. And all of this is assuming that the data/power connectors are the same, the impedance of the new screen is similar enough not to cause over current, you can find a screen which is has the same mounting points and is the same size. TL:DR Don't do it edit: Fixed my england
  6. What the fuck did I just read. I think I need to bleach my eyes now.
  7. ebay, can be good but look out encase. I would recommend looking at their reviews to ensure, if they have reasonable reviews (95%+ and 1000+ reviews) you should be fine Other option is Craigslist
  8. Main Desktop 732/930 GB 1.3/2.72 TB Laptop (estimates from memory) 200/930GB (New SSD only been in there for a month so not as full as it will be shortly yet) 800/1000GB (HDD)
  9. is there any way to disable the scrolling out if the video when in fullscreen on youtube though as that's where this problem really affects me the most
  10. Pretty much I have two monitors and wanna game on one and watch YT on the other, but some of the games are not optimised for 2 screens so often I scroll down the page on my other monitor, which means I scroll down to the comments on YT while in fullscreen which is annoying as fuck. How do I disable this so I can watch videos in fullscreen easier without needing to alt + tab out every 10S. (I also find the feature annoying when not playing games as well, so I will be losing nothing by disabling it)
  11. Because the i7 2600 has similar single and quad (only 8 and 16% lower respectfully) and 24% faster multicore than the 7400. So yes it will bottleneck it, but you'll get 70-80% of the actual performance. This build from the sounds of it is a bit of a budget build, this will be acceptable bottleneck as you get most of the performance, but if you play your cards right and configure the game in a more sensible way you can move more of the load off the CPU to the GPU making it run nicer. Also no matter what you build there is always a bottleneck, be it CPU, GPU, RAM, storage. if there was none we would have a PC with unlimited power able compute everything immediately. So the main job is balancing the bottlenecks, and in this case that bottleneck should be fine. Also yes a 1060 probably would be a better card but also by the fact the OP said I am assuming they already own one for what ever reason, so yea a i7 2600 will be fine, worst come to the worst they can upgrade platform later down the line (I would probably recommend a ryzen platform for a budget build (Assuming you have good PSU and case already), as you could buy a good base MB, CPU and RAM for $320 (2600 + 16GB)) https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-2600-vs-Intel-Core-i5-7400/620vs3886
  12. bottle necking on a 2600 wouldn't really happen, and so should be fine, it will on edge cases but still most it'll be fine
  13. if you own the thinkentre already, no just upgrade the CPU and go from their
  14. if you go to the product page and go to support it gives you the list of supported CPUs, here it is, the 3770 might be in there, just use ctr+F to find it https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z77M/HelpDesk_CPU/ also you can get this board (or equivalent) for cheaper on ebay and it will work just as well. Also be cheaper and should be fine if you buy from a seller with proper good reviews
  15. Considering the only difference looks like the boost is 0.1GHz slower, not much (CPU performance is not all frequency but I think in this case difference will be minimal, 5-10% max maybe)
  16. this website has all supported CPUs on it https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/migr-76747
  17. Pretty much as the title says, what power connecter is this, as I need to do Fun/Stupid stuff with it to make it power two hard drive banks rather than 1 (because FrankenToast is being worked on currently (post will come later, maybe, as it is stupid and included a grinder to make)) I need to buy a couple of these and go from there, I think, other option is soldering and electrical tape (I don't own a heat gun for heat shrink ) which is a stupid option image 1 image 2
  18. Assuming it's a HP Compaq which is what I seam to be finding when I search for that mb, and your asking what CPUS it supports it supports https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c02781693 so I would imagine that you have the best CPU it supports. That being said it isn't impossible that it also supports 3rd gen and xeons (it isn't unheard of, they might of just kept the same motherboard for their 3rd gen but re-branded it to save work as they have both will have the same bios so 1 less to code, so it's easier on them, BUT it can't be guaranteed so don't take my word on it) I was assuming the question was what's the best CPU my Motherboard supports, and next time if your using a pre-built computer from HP etc. list the model like "HP Compaq 8200 Elite" it makes our job easier as we get more information to work with Also if you are planning to upgrade your GPU I would recommend upgrading the PSU as OEMs don't have a great reputation for their PSUs especially older PCs. (this isn't just my dislike of HP talking either, DELL and several others are guilty of it too)
  19. one thing here especially on the CPU side, I can maybe see them under pricing them as AMD still doesn't have significant market share, and by underpricing them they just make thier CPUs look even better, also note that intel has better IPC than AMD at the moment so intel might still be faster in single core proformance. Also you don't want to over price them as it's better to sell in volume than to sell just a few so they might still under price them in order to entise people to upgrade spending more money That being said the ryzen 3000 series romours are too my eyes almost fantasys so I doubt that they are acurate yet, especially the core cound as this would mean the AM4 socket and the origional chipset would both be able to support 16 Cores and 32 threads which I don't think will be possible. Same time AMD could of planned for this so I could be wrong
  20. I must say that it would be nice if this is true, but at the same time even these roumors show that AMD is at least a generation behind nividea as they are building a card to rival a 1080 which isn't even the top teir card from nividea, so despite it looking cheap and powerful, they will only get the lower end of the market, nividea still has the proformance side like AI, as their cards no matter how you look at it are faster. Side note I also hate/love the new naming scheme, I hate it as not their next gen CPUs will have very similar names to their GPUs which will be a fucking pain, that being said the cards have a bigger number than nividea so they must be better References I found https://wccftech.com/amd-rx-3080-3070-3060-navi-gpu-specs-prices-leaked-rtx-2070-gtx-1070-gtx-1060-challengers-at-249-199-129/ https://www.pcbuildersclub.com/en/2018/12/amd-navi-rx-3080-allegedly-as-fast-as-rtx-2070-costs-250-us/
  21. That too me both sounds like complete bullshit, but at the same time might be something AMD would do to spite intel and get a level up on them, as I wouldn't imagine pricing would change much so you could get a 6 core at £100-120ish which sounds fucking amazing and not believable a few years ago, but now maybe it will, but same time it could be AMD fanboys making bullshit up, again trying to hype up a launch which might be just more of a refresh rather than anything. (that being said I sorta hope it is true) that also being said there is also meant to be a 16 core on there which again sounds a bit more like fanboys, although it is too early too say how believable the rumors are they don't sound believable on another note if you can wait 5 months for the next AMD launch you may as well, but that being said if you can't, and from the sounds of it with your current CPU you can't I would buy now, remember you will need a new motherboard, and you could always get an R3/R5 now and then an R7 when the next launch happens, as they are keeping the same socket (which is another reason why the 16 cores sound a bit unbelievable to me, still could be wrong they might of had thought of all this before)
  22. well uuum don't know why that's happened, but still (it's £10 cheaper for me) it's possible that they are planning to put it on sale for black friday so put the price up slightly so the deal they offer looks even better (I wouldn't be surprised if they did this it's pretty common)
