  1. I would prefer to stay away from apple due to zero experience with using their products besides original ipod lol. Here are the 2 models that i was originally looking at, but like i said i am not 100% set on a make or model yet. https://www.newegg.com/p/1TS-000E-0PKR3?Item=9SIAJZDDTK3669 https://www.newegg.com/p/1TS-000E-0M7X7?Item=9SIA24GBHE4106
  2. I am looking for a new laptop that is fast!!! I have no patience lol. It will be mainly for Excel, light Cad work and web browsing/email. Budget is $1000, 16GB ram, 512GB+ storage, i7/Ryzen 7 or better and FAST!!!! I prefer 14-16" screens for portability, don't care if it has a touch screen or is a 2-n-1. But i must purchase from Newegg as I have a credit from return.
  3. Is it true there is a maximum capacity for a boot drive? Someone told me 1TB is the largest you can use for a M.2 NVME boot drive. i7 10700k, ASrock Z590 Steel Legend Wifi 6E and i was gonna buy a Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2
  4. Yes, we lost power during a snow storm and when i can home a couple days later from my parents house the power was back on, the power supply was shooting sparks and water was pouring through the top of the case and the bottom dust filters were full of wet attic insulation.
  5. Do you think the CPU is ok? Like i said i got it to post, but don't have enough time to look through the bios or test it before it shuts down. I thought about building a HTPC with it as Micro Center has the i7 10700k on sale for $249.99 right now with a $20 discount if i buy a Mobo with it to use for my new gaming pc.
  6. I need help, i had a pipe freeze in my attic right above my home office and flood my house. I waited 2 weeks for computer to dry out, at first wouldn't turn on at all, not a single light. I switched power supplies and got it to post with integrated graphics into bios. CPU was hitting 97 degrees almost immediately, so i shut down and applied new thermal paste to corsair H100i and reinstalled. I have no lights on CPU block, or any fans, no fans turn on, GPU won't work only lights are on RAM and little code read out on MOBO. Will run for 3 or 4 minutes before it throttles and shuts down. Are motherboard, Power Supply, GPU and AiO completely fried or can any of it be saved? Are my hard drives, SSD's, M.2's ok? Asrock Z97 Extreme6, i5 4690K, Corsair RM1000i, Gigabyte GTX 970 Windforce OC, Corsair H100i.
  7. I will take either as beggers can't be choosers! I am trying to get my Dad into gaming so either of these would go towards his gaming pc i am saving to build.
  8. I want to build a gaming pc, because my friends call me names for being a strictly console gamer. This would be my first piece to start the build.
  9. This is the motherboard I have if this helps any? http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme6/
  10. I think I will want at least 2-4 TB of storage in RAID 10. (1TB X 4) or (2TB X 4) and then one 2 or 4TB HDD for back up? Is this a bad idea or could you suggest something better?
  11. Yes this is on windows 10. So I would just plug in the drive to power and data and then tell the bios that I want to run them in a raid 1 and no data would be lost, but it would copy all current data to both drives?
  12. I am new to building pc's, I just built my first rig last year. I was only able to afford a single Samsung 840 Evo 250gb SSD and a single 1TB WD Blue drive HD to get the build started. The SSD is my boot drive and the WD Blue is storage. I now would like to add additional drive or drives as both a backup and additional storage. Is there anyway to add an additional drive or two without loosing my data? Create a RAID setup? Should I keep the WD Blue 1TB as a backup and purchase 2 or 3 new WD Black to set up my RAID? I have about $300 to spend on this what would you suggest? Any youtube videos that might help?
