  1. I fixed it by flashing the GPU bios to a newer one gigabyte released to solve the problem here: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Graphics-Card/GV-N1080AORUS-8GD-rev-20-21#support-dl-bios
  2. Haha yeah it says dual link and its the one I used for 144hz with the 780.
  3. That's alright if anything I'll just order a DP cable which should hopefully work. Thank you
  4. Okay ill try that, I used it once but not in safe mode ill do that now.
  5. Unfortunately I haven't got one which is a big sads. but thanks
  6. When this occurs the monitor loses signal. The monitor supports 144hz as it was available for the 780
  7. I replaced my GTX 780 with a Aorus GTX 1080 today, and my ASUS VG248QE can't be put into 144hz, it simply isnt an option in the NVIDIA control panel. I am using a DVI Dual link cable which worked for the 780. I did a clean install of all the graphics drivers. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
  8. In the long run though would it be ideal to bite the bullet and change platform, I wouldn't want to buy a i7 4970k for it to be obsolete in a year because of it being on the older platform.
  9. I've already got a after market cooler to use for cooling, I will take it into consideration.
  10. Okay, waiting game it is. How will Ryzen 2 supposedly stack up to an OC'd i5 8600k for gaming as I don't think I would benefit for going to i7.
  11. Gaming I prioritise over the video/editing side, but that's a good point. Having to replace my CPU, Motherboard and RAM would be a costly upgrade for me at the moment especially since if I upgrade one I'd have to upgrade all 3. Yes I think for now I am going to wait it out, I don't think my productivity will change that much its more just a nice thing for it to be good for than anything else with priority being on gaming. Thanks
  12. I try to push above 60 fps as I have 140 hz monitor but that's a good point, especially with the GPU price hike you think it will be worth waiting for the next generation after the 1070/1080 era?
  13. Yes I'd probably wait until the mining boom goes down hopefully, in terms of upgrade platform, what do you mean by that? Mainly the perfomance improvement would be in handling games at higher FPS' and general longetivity.
