    It's not like there is a big difference in fps between the 1700 and 7700k, but the extra cores/threads will definitely help in multi-threaded workloads such as streaming, rendering, and video editing.

    Yah, the 1700 does better with higher refresh rates and resolutions where more of the load is on the GPU.
