  1. Open it to max. Nothing broke, It’s just not designed to be tampered with unless you have the same el retardo tape they initially installed it with.
  2. just rip it off and put it back on. It never fits the same again. BTCH tier engineering.
  3. Yeah, need 20 series for that. That's what made me wonder if I could use 2 wires to achieve it without dsc. Also I'm confused with the calculator. Don't know what half the options mean.
  4. I regularly run at 2160p using dsr. Obviously it varies from game to game, but the ones with primitive art styles run quite well. For example my current game is Trials of Mana and I'm running at 2160p>100 (usually locked at 120 because the game forces you to chose a cap of 30, 60, or 120). I played the crash bandicoot remasters at 2880p>60. Basically for the games my hardware can push over 4k120, I want to be able to. I'll check that calculator momentarily.
  5. What got me even wondering about this is this disclaimer from the monitor's product page: "To enable 4K resolution at 144 Hz with DSC, an NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 20 series, AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 or higher graphics card is required. For additional information about enabling DSC, contact your graphics card manufacturer.". I just ordered the monitor so that I'd have a 4k hdr monitor that could do gsync on my pc and freesync on the upcoming ps5. This is the product page: https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG43UQ/ My current monitor is 1440p@165hz and I don't want to lose too many hz in the upgrade. A lot of games I play exceed 120fps but fall short of 165fps. (Usually play at max settings using dsr to exceed 1440p). With my current hardware I often have to play at less than 2160p which would allow me to use the full 144 of the new monitor, but if possible, I'd like to just leave it at 144. I guess I'll have to just play with it once it arrives.
  6. Example: GTX 1080ti connected via dp1.4 to ROG Swift PG43UQ monitor. If I use two wires can I exceed 2160p@120hz? Obviously it "can" be...but did nvidia and/or asus program said functionality into drivers/firmware? I'd appreciate any input you folks can provide. : ]
  7. Nvm, I winged it. Just pull off the bezel when the laptop lid is fully opened to it's max. There s some very sticky tape along the bottom bezel as well. Then just snap it back on. No screws, completely toolless.
  8. Hello everyone. I was kind of torn as to which section to post this in, if this is the wrong place, please move it to where it should be. I'm having trouble finding instructions on how to open up the monitor section to replace the panel. I've found tons of material on opening the motherboard section, but nothing on the monitor section. Any help is much appreciated.
  9. Am I correct in assuming that if ep1 is now on yt, then ep2 is now on fp?
  10. That would be ideal, but I'd still need the info for connecting without the app...which I haven't been able to dig up yet.
  11. Hi guys, I would like to have my game consoles be able to use the TunnelBear service. I can't seem to find info on manually connecting to the service, so as not to need the app. Would any of you happen to know of a solution?
