  1. Yeah I do the fresh install every time I install the newest ones just to be sure there isn't any problems like that. Nevertheless I'll try it and then use the tool you've linked me. Thanks!
  2. So for a little while now I would be playing Skyrim and the screen would randomly turn grey and then my PC would lock up for about 10 seconds or so. Once I could get to the task manager, I would close Skyrim, to my demise as I'd lose my progress, and I would get a notification from Windows 10 saying "An application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware." I've tried to look up solutions but all I've gotten was "try to update your drivers." This has been happening for the last 3 Nvidia Driver iterations. If anyone else has run into this problem, please let me know how you've fixed it. It's getting kind of annoying losing progress. Specs: EVGA 980Ti SSC ACX 2.0 i5-4690K @4.5Ghz 16GB Crucial Ballistix (4x4) 1000W EVGA G2 PSU Windows 10 Pro
  3. Thanks! It took a PSU upgrade to get there though. I had been running a 650W PSU in my rig and it couldn't handle the CPU and GPU being OCed so I got a 1000W PSU. The system is happy and stable once more
  4. In that case go with the K version of the same processor. With my setup, I've OCed it to 4.5Ghz
  5. Yeah it works perfectly fine for gaming. It is a quad core processor at 3.5Ghz plus turbo boost. It isn't overclockable though.
  6. Yeah I agree with this 100%. If you can't fit a big radiator, I'd go with the Corsair H80i GT. It's the same thing just a smaller radiator. I've overclocked my i5 4690K to 4.5Ghz and still manage to get 40-50C under full load, so it's a damn good cooler.
  7. If you have the extra ~$10-$20 I'd get the 4690 if you aren't overclocking. I'd also go with the RX 480 or a GTX 970 for the GPU if I was you.
  8. Ah okay. That's what I figured. I just wasn't sure which one would be better. Thanks. I guess I'll go for the Krait since it'd complement my case.
  9. So I've been looking at the two motherboards in the title and trying to figure out which would be better for an SLI config. I assume the Krait version would be because it has SLI in the name, but I haven't been able to find any reviews on the board to back it up, or any comparisons for that matter. If you have had any experience with these mobos or just really good knowledge on SLI configs/mobos in general, please help me decide which mobo to buy. Thanks in advance.
  10. Intel (i5 4690K) MSI Nvidia/EVGA x2 (PSU and GPU) Crucial (4x4GB) Western Digital x2 Kingston Corsair NZXT ASUS (Display)
  11. When I read that and imagined what would happen if he didn't. I got a rush of adrenaline.
  12. That's pretty odd. I had the same problem but reversed. HWMonitor, CPU-Z, Sony Vegas, etc. wouldn't detect the 980Ti, but I would run games and everything else fine. All I can try to recommend is fresh installing your drivers. That's what fixed my issue.
  13. Wow what a scary thread. This is a nail biter. Hope it works out.
  14. Hardware Canucks also made a video on it.
  15. I would but the 1080 doesn't impress me enough to convince me to buy one instead of running a dual GPU set up to be honest. Thanks for the response though!
  16. Try plugging the monitor into anything else to be 100% sure. If it keeps messing up, return it for a new/functional one.
  17. The best thing I can recommend out of personal experience is to back up any important things you keep on the PC and wipe the hard drive. I do that to mine every so often and it stays pretty quick. Other than that I have defrag scheduled to run once every week.
  18. Holy crap. That's awesome haha
  19. I would stay with the G502 to be completely honest. I've tried plenty of "legendary" mice like the Razer Naga Hex 2014 and the Death Adder 2014, as well as a few Corsair mice. None of them really stood out to me performance wise. Only thing wrong with my mouse is the braided cable is beginning to fray. Other than that I haven't found a better mouse. I say keep trying with the warranty, I'm pretty sure warranty on the G502 is 2-3 years anyway.
  20. From benchmarks that I've seen, that looks like a pretty great buy!
  21. If I was you I'd go for a gaming grade monitor because of the input lag and refresh rates. Yeah you probably won't find one at 55" but there are some that are pretty large if you look.

    Issue!

Try isopropyl alcohol, works for thermal paste and getting stickers off of my airsoft guns.
  23. Did you check the cable connections? I have the same monitor and it did something similar to that when the cable wasn't plugged in correctly/all the way.
