  2. Hello everyone! Today I want to ask a question regarding performace in relation to resolution. Im looking to change my current monitor (An ancient LG Flatron 1280x1024 native panel) with something newer, with a 1920x1080 native resolution. I want to know how much the higher resolution will affect performance. My current system is: GTX950, FX8300, 8gb HyperX Fury 1600hz. Im currently getting fantastic FPS because of the resolution being pretty low (60 fps cap on Witcher 3 on ultra, nothing bellow 50 fps, 90 fps on dying light on ultra) and because by my calculation a 1920x1080 monitor will need to have rougly 70% more pixels rendered, does that mean that I would be getting 70% of the FPS im currently getting? Cheers to anyone that takes time off their day (or evening) to help me out
  3. I was wondering if its good enough for what I want from it, I wont be overclocking, thanks for the reply
  4. Hello everyone Today i want to ask if buying a Cooler Master Hyper 412S for my FX-8300. It has the stock cooler which is only 80mm and is really noisy, so I want to replace it with something a lot better. On ultra settings on BF4 it was around 80C which seems over my comfort zone for temps (around 45C idle, that is with the "Balaced" mode selected from the control panel since for browsing it seems to lower the temps, on high performance its around 50C idle). I dont want to fry it, so cooling seems top priority right now. Sadly the Hyper 212 Evo isn't avaialble to buy in my country, however the 412S is and it seems like the best alternative in that price range. Im open to suggestions, as long as they are around the same price. I am looking for a solid cooler that is capable of keeping it under 70-60C even when its quite stressed. I haven't OC'd the chip, so its still running at the stock 3.3ghz frequency. Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this
  5. I already have everything bought exept the PSU since my last one broke after an unexplained series of power outages. The problem being that I dont have enough money to spend to buy any of the better tier PSUs and I need to settle on something humble, but at the end of the day I just need something reliable that wont derp out in a year
  6. Hello everyone! This is my first forum post ever so im really fresh, just got my socks and sandals on So im building my new system, a midrange/budget gaming rig for 1080p gaming and I need help with chosing an appropriate power supply for it. Im not very experienced in PSU so I feel as if this is new territory for me. My system is: CPU: AMD FX-8300 3.3Ghz GPU: MSI GTX 950 Memory: 8 gigs of HyperX Fury ram (2 sticks of 4gb) Motherboard: Asrock 970 Extreme 4 PSU: we will find out soon (hopefully) I can give some more information if needed. The PSU that I have my eyes on currently is a Corsair vs 550w. Im on a fairly tight budget so around 70-75$ is my limit. I would love to know if its stable for my system or if I should get something else. Im open to all suggestions! Also according to http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator my system will need around 360 wats but I would like to have some wiggle room just in case. I would deeply appreciate the help, I have a week to decide and I really want to make a good choice! Thanks in advance - Martin
