Schwike88's Achievements

  1. What kb, mouse, and monitor are you using? Btw very nice build.
  2. I was looking at logitech g710 which is the cherry mx blue and it will match my color scheme of black, blue and white.
  3. I don't care for the Ducky keyboards they are too basic looking for my taste.
  4. I want to be able to have macros as well, whether that's with dedicated keys or through macros, also I want some dedicated media keys as well. But I do not have to have those
  5. So I am looking for a new mechanical keyboard for under $180, has either cherry mx Browns or blues. The keyboards that I am looking at getting are following: Corsair k70 RGB either the blue switch or the brown Razer black widow chroma ( I know it's not cherry switches but they are close) Logitech g710 (cherry mx blue model) CM storm mech Cooler master rapid-I (blue or brown switch model) I currently have a white, black and blue cooler scheme. I'm leaning towards the cm storm mech or the logitech
  6. I am building a home server with 11 wd red 2tb drives. It will be running on an old core 2 duo e8400 on a Maximus formula mb, 6gb of corsair dominator ram, just need a good raid card that will run the drives in either a raid 0, 1, or 5. Can recommend a good raid card.
  7. As far as cable management goes the 760t and 780t are identical on the interior, but the 780t has a bit more room behind the motherboard tray. As far as quietness goes, the h440 will have the advantage there, but near as much cable management goes, the other two have more as the sound dampening foam, takes away some of that. Personally I like the look the 780t, as that is what ill be upgrading my rig too.
  8. Is the Benq xl2720z any good? i want bigger monitor than what i have now, so would love a 27", also what about these 21:9 monitors are they any good?
  9. Hi all, I am in the market for a new monitor, and I am not 100% sure what I want to get. My budget for a new monitor or monitors is about $700. I want a monitor that is 144hz, preferably 1440p, but I will settle for 1080p if I can 2 or 3 of them under budget. I am currently using a Dell 2408WFP 1200p monitor that I have loved, but I want to upgrade as the response time isnt that great and the monitor backlight is starting to fade a bit, my rig specs are 4670k, sabertooth z87, 8gb of ram, gtx 780 ti. So I know i have the horsepower to run on a 144hz 1080p or a 1440p panel. i dont care if the colors are completely accurate, so I dont mind tn panels. any help you guys provide would be appreciated.
  10. the link does not open up, what is the budget for just case? I can you tell you from my own exp, the case does not have good airflow from the front, even with static pressure optimized fans.I had 2 corsair sp120 fans and I wasnt getting good airflow from the front intake.
  11. The key switches on that Orion Spark G910 are Cherry MX Switches, they are something called Romer-G switches. I haven't ever heard of those, according to this article http://www.maximumpc.com/logitech_develops_custom_romer-g_switches_g910_orion_spark_mechanical_keyboard_2014, the switches where specifically designed by Logitech, so hopefully they will be similar to cherry switches, I'm looking forward to the g710 with Cherry MX blue switches. Hopefully it won't be like the Razer developed switches, which I thought where terrible, they didnt have the same feeling as the Cherry switches.
  12. All I can say is about time they released the the G710+ in the cherry MX blue switches, and they no longer have the orange trim around the G-keys, will definitely be picking this up when it releases
  13. @brob, thanks! Yeah I have looked at that one, my only complaint is that it is a Dual 120MM rad and not a dual 140 rad and i want to get a dual 140mm rad AIO based on that does cool better than dual 120mm rad AIO. The AIO's that I've been looking at getting are the following: H220-X, H100i, Kraken x60, x61, CoolerMaster nepton 280l, and the glacier 240l.
  14. Thank you Captain_WD for the congrats, my wife and I are very excited, now in regards to the ram upgrade, I don't think that Haswell on the 1150 socket will support DDR4 so I don't plan on upgrading to it anytime soon. I will upgrade to 16GB eventually, and just get another kit of 8GB kit of the the same Kingston Hyper X Beast ram set cause more than likely as DDR4 comes more mainstream the cost of DDR3 will come down in price. I'm not planing on doing any RAID just yet, at least not until I setup a home server. Captain_WD have you tried any ODAC/AMP, with the G4ME ZERO's? SovietOnion, if the H105 where a 280MM AIO I would go for it, but the problem with most of the corsair AIO's, the only ones that are compatible with Corsair Link is the H80i and the H100i. The H110 which is a 280MM but it is not compatible with Corsair link. I've sent a message to Corsair asking if they where going to release a H110 that would be compatible with Corsair link and I got the usual answer, We will take your suggestions into considerations. Does anyone have a suggestion for good fan control software to control all my fans, I dont care for fan control on my mb, and I would like something that can be controlled easily from windows and doesn't require me to use manual physical controls?
  15. So I've posted my previous build http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/114071-white-scout-battlestation/#entry1524645 and then what I wanted to upgrade too http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/197507-watercooled-case-labs-sma8/#entry2678568, but due to some recent news that my wife and I got, (having a baby, due in april) I have put my the extreme upgrade on a permanent hold cause I cant fathom having to spend that amount of money on a new rig. So I am instead going to go with a minor upgrade/case swap, mostly this build will be for airflow and having a AIO liquid cooler. Current Setup Core i5 4670k Asus Sabertooth z87 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast RAM DDR33-1600 (4GB x2 dimms) EVGA GTX 780Ti SC Samsung 830 pro 128 GB SSD 2TB WD Green HDD x4 Corsair SP120 fans x2 Coolermaster 230mm fans Enermax BTS-T40 black version Corsair RM750 PSU Corsair Gunmetal grey individually sleeved PSU Cable set CoolerMaster HAF 932 (had to switch back to it as I was getting poor air flow in the Scout 2) Logitech G19 keyboard (...my Corsair k70 stopped working for me....sad day) Logitech g500 mouse Razer Kraken Pro Headphones Planned Upgrades Phanteks Ethoo Primo CoolerMaster Nepton 280L or the NZXT Kraken x61 (cant decide on which one) Logisys 16" Corner LED Light Bar - 12V - White (LCX16WT) x2 BitFenix Spectre Pro 140mm White led fans, x10 2TB WD Black drive 500GB Samsung 840 EVO ssd CM Storm Mech Mechanical keyboard with cherry mx brown switches. Other upgrades that will come along hopefully soon will be: LG 34UM65 21: Monitor Sennheiser G4ME ZERO (black and red version) Mayflower Objective 2 ODAC/Amp Please let me know what you guys think and any suggestions on the AIO unit, I want a dual 140mm rad AIO.
