  1. Sounds like the RX 570 is my best bet. What if I were able to find an RX 580/ 480 4GB model around the same price. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202277&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125907&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker, LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID= Or is the RX 580/480 not worth it unless you get the 8gb model?
  2. 4GB. The 570 only comes in a 4gb model.
  3. Hi folks, I'm in the market for a new GPU. My budget is around $200 give or take a little. Looking at the cards available in that price area, it seems my best options are the RX 570 or the GTX 1060 3GB. I want a card that is able to play Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon on high settings. I use a HP w2207h monitor. (Resolution is 1680x1050) Which one should I go for? Thanks! EDIT: The rest of my specs are listed below.
  4. Well, they aren't going to be able to send out a replacement so instead they are going to send me a check for $200. So I'm gonna buy a GTX 1060 from EVGA.
  5. I do have all of the emails MSI sent me. So if they need any of that information I can easily pull it up for them. Hopefully they'll get it figured out and send me out a new card or a repaired old card, who knows.
  6. Soo... apparently the support guy, Jose, was able to get in contact with someone higher up who will talk to the RMA director and will then send me an email with the details about my graphics card. Should expect to get the email in the nest 24-48 hours.
  7. Realized that its only 4:21 in CA. So I'm talking with now. The support guy I got is looking into it now. Sitting on hold listening to guitar music while he does that....
  8. Ain't that the truth. Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to do so.
  9. Alright, I'll call them up tomorrow and see what's up.
  10. Hi folks, I'm wondering how much longer I should expect to wait before MSI either repairs my graphics card (MSI R9 380 4GB) or sends out a replacement. On March 23rd I requested an RMA, the HDMI port went out, and on the 24th it was approved. They received the card on April 4th. (I got an email saying they received it). According to the first email I got it should have taken no more than 15 business days. Well, 15 business days have come and gone. Any idea how much longer it may take? I don't mind waiting, that's fine. I'd just like to have an idea of when I can expect to get it back. Thanks! -Chuck
  11. I don't suppose you would have a link to the sale? Personally the form doesn't bother me to much, I'm going to use my Vesa mount stand so I won't have to deal with that cheap glossy stand.
  12. So, I was given some money for Christmas and right away I started thinking about updating some of my computer hardware, but then I though, what's the point of getting new hard ware if I'm just going to have to view it all on my not-so-great monitor. I don't know if I'm right about this or not, so I want to check with y'all first. Currently I use a HP w2207h (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=HP+w2207h) which has been working OK. It's not that fantastic, but I got it for free so I can't complain. I'm thinking about upgrading to this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018MYTH9U/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3F8UO6W12I19A&coliid=IQ7CPN8TJZYFU&th=1). Is it worth it? Will I see any difference in gaming? (Fallout 4, Watch Dogs 1 and 2, The Division, ect.)
  13. Oh, should that be intake or exhaust?
  14. Well, the point is to be small. As small as possible while still being able to use my PSU and GPU. Those are the two most expensive parts in my current system and I don't want to have replace either one if it's possible. Ok, I had assumed the stock cooler would be noisy as hell. I've only used AMD stuff in the past, LOL Thanks for your post.
  15. CPU: i5-6500 (I'm not gonna OC so there's really no reason to get a 6600K) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9i (Looks like a good low profile cooler) Motherboard: MSI H170I Pro AC (Again, not gonna OC. No reason for a Z170) Memory: Kingston HperX DDR4-2133 2x4GB (I currently have 8GB and it's been more than enough for me so far. I can always upgrade further down the road) Storage: 1 Crucial 240GB SSD, 1 PNY 120 GB SSD (I already own both of these) Video Card: MSI R9 380 4GB (Already own it) Case: Silverstone SG13 (I like the small and compact figure of this build. More about how I'll fit the PSU and GPU below) PSU: EVGA 750w G2 (Again, already own it) Ok, so here's the plan. if I remove the top bracket in the SG13, I should be able to fit the PSU fairly comfortably, however this will cause a problem since I have two SSDs and there's only one SSD mount on the floor, but I figured I could use some velcro to stack them? Second, the GPU.. I've seen some videos where they have been able to fit the MSI GTX 970, which is 10.59in so I'm pretty sure my R9 380, which is 10.55, should fit also. Now, here's my question. My 380 is pretty hot, will this cause a problem being in such a tight environment? and what would be the best cooling option? Should the PSU be facing up or down? Would an AiO be better for the CPU? Or is this a really bad idea and I should just forget it and move on?
