  1. that looks amazing, it looks like it would be worth an arm and a leg on ebay
  2. holy crap that looks amazing thanks for that ill definitly be investing into one of those
  3. tbh this is the first ive heard of custom heatsinks...can you maybe show me one of em? i imagine i have to heat up the heatsink of the exsisting one to loosen up the glue then take it off and put the one i want on it. weird that ddr3 produced a lot less heat cause in the server world FB-DIMM ddr3 is just as hot as FB-DIMM ddr2. maybe the buffer chip just hits different tho
  4. yeah those definitely are the closest. maybe im just way to picky so forgive me but they dont feel the same as the ones in the old days. I have already chosen them for one of the builds I have and i like them way better than some of the other stuff out there but it still leaves something to be desired
  5. What you see pictured is now considered old ram at this point. It is a mix of Desktop DDR2, DDR3, and server FB-DIMM DDR2 and DDR3 ram. What I love about them and what they all have in common is that they have that tight fitting HEAVY metal heat spreader on them that makes them super cool to feel in the hand. It actually felt like you were holding a stick of ram, kinda like how the old RIMMS of the pentium 4 era felt like. I have been searching far and wide but I cannot for the life of me find DDR4 ram like this anymore, its all just the over-the-top gamery ram with rgb and weird designs. Does anyone know of a line of ram today that is like the ram of yester-year? for reference look what the XMS4's look like: I have also noticed that RGB or not the height of the ram has increased too for some reason, some manufacturers put 45-degree angle slots in them for some reason... i get that this post might sound like im just complaining but ive found nothing so far.
  6. Public is not a user account that you log into or access.
  7. @IkeaGnome @IAmNik sorry for the late reply i had something to do. The screen connects physically via a USB C cable and it shows up as a COM device so its not just another screen.
  8. Hello, i got one of these turing smart screens off of aliexpress that is supposed to link up with aida64, however the website that has the software does not work 下载DOWNLOAD – 图灵智显 TuringSmartScreen the links are dead...so some people say to go to the preferences menu of aida64 and use ax206 but that does not work either any ideas?
  9. I have this interesting little Shuttle XPC pentium 4 very small computer....i found out that they still are in business...my suggestion is doing something with Shuttle Computer Group
  10. So all it seems to be then is that: cheap dvi and hdmi cables that have the same level of cheap quality and imperfections just show less problems then cheap DP cables? vga would be a diff story.
  11. Yeah the other 12 dollar one says 2K at 165Hz but i need it at 170Hz and whatever future monitor i may have so i think ill get the 35 dollar one.
  12. You said that this is a new computer build right? its basically saying that if you want to keep tpm on, press y if you want it off press n, but you can turn it on later if you want. If your installing windows 11 you need to have it on.
  13. wow 30 dollars for a good DP cable...ouch but i think ill get a better DP cable.
  14. Board partner cards (especially evga) are overclocked from the factory, however the founders editions are not. you should try what the previous guy said to do and to downclock the memory and core clock.
  15. so i forgot to mention this but on hdmi for the main monitor, i dont get 170 hz i get 120 but it never disconnects like it does on DP. Can the monitor still be bad even though its fine on hdmi?
  16. What exact card is it? is it a founders edition or like a evga or asus card
  17. So I have 3 monitors, which are as follows and my EVGA GTX 1070 Superclocked: Main (the one that has the problem): Asus VG27AQL1A 170Hz WQHD connected via displayport Second: Acer SB220Q 75Hz FHD connected via HDMI third: Gateway FPD2275W 60Hz WSXGA+ connected via dual link dvi the problem is that the only way i can get 170Hz on my main monitor is to use display port...however i have found that displayport is the most unreliable connection standard i have ever seen, when i got the monitor i used its included DP cable since this was the first time i have use DP...i have only ever used vga, dvi, or hdmi up until now. However I have this problem where the monitor will disconnect and reconnect by itself .like once every hour, when this happens all the monitors go black for 5 seconds, windows during that 5 seconds will re-arrange all the windows to the other monitors since the main one doesnt exists more, then the 2 other monitors come back on, and the main one stays black... if i wait 10 seconds the DP will reconnect and all the displays will go black again for 5 seconds and then all the displays will come back on...if it happens during a gaming session, then that game will have a white screen even though it is still running (i can tell because of the audio). so i have to re-arrange all my windows, go in task manager and kill the game process and start it again... i have never had this problem with any other display standard and its making me consider running over this displayport cable with a lawn mower.
  18. yep, just let me know if u replace it and it still happens.
  19. In That case a pretty good best is the intel xeon X5690, that actually the fastest it supports
  20. well one more thing could be that you cmos battery is dying, but other than that i wouldnt know what would cause it to do that.
