SimpleLeonard's Achievements

  1. A problem that I've been experiencing lately are unexpected graphics driver crashes, sometimes restoring and other times crashing my system completely either rebooting by itself or forcing me to manually reset the system. These crashes sometimes happen as frequently as every few minutes but can disappear for hours on end. Sometimes I would watch a video and the picture and sound would freeze forcing me to once more having to reboot my PC. These incidents have never caused a blue-screen. I have updated my graphics drivers but I am still getting these crashes. Is this a sign that my 2 year old card is dieing? System: CPU i7 3770k Motherboard ASUS Maximus IV Extreme RAM 4x 4GB Kingston HyperX 1600mHz GPU msi r7970 Case Cooler Master HAF-X Storage Samsung 840 series 120gb SSD, Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD, unknown 1tb HDD PSU OCZ Fatal1ty Champ1on Series 1000Watt Display LG Flatron E2340 24inch Thanks, -Leonard
  2. I have a few upgrades in mind for my gaming/editing PC, however I can only afford to purchase one of them. I'm also experiencing a few problems as described below. My current system specifications are: CPU i7 3770k Motherboard ASUS Maximus IV Extreme RAM 4x 4GB Kingston HyperX 1600mHz GPU msi r7970 Case Cooler Master HAF-X Storage Samsung 840 series 120gb SSD, Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD, unknown 1tb HDD PSU OCZ Fatal1ty Champ1on Series 1000Watt Display LG Flatron E2340 24inch Cooling Stock Heatsink Keyboard HP 10$ keyboard Mouse Steelseries Kana V2 I'm currently debating whether to buy the Asus PG278Q 2160x1440p, 144Hz monitor to use two monitors, a second msi r7970 to run in crossfireX with my current 2 year old card, a completely fresh card (I'm thinking a Nvidia 780 to eventually run with the Asus monitor), or a H100 or a recommendable equivalent so that I can finally overclock my 3770k, in which case I would also purchase a mechanical gaming keyboard. Some extra info: This is my first custom built rig. For a long time when I first built it I would receive a motherboard error 55 and it wouldn't post. My PC would not give me a picture, but all lights were on and all fans including the graphics card coolers were spinning. After rapidly resetting my PC it would eventually give me a picture and a post beep and power on normally. Some time later I upgraded to windows 8 and the issue resolved itself. To this day I don't know what caused the problem or whether it might return. Another problem that I've been experiencing lately are unexpected graphics driver crashes, sometimes restoring and other times crashing my system completely either rebooting by itself or forcing me to manually reset the system. These crashes sometimes happen as frequently as every few minutes but can disappear for hours on end. Sometimes I would watch a video and the picture and sound would freeze forcing me to once more having to reboot my PC. These incident have never caused a blue-screen. I have updated my graphics drivers but I am still getting these crashes. Is this a sign that my card is dieing? I hope someone can help me make a wise decision on what to go for next or in what order to upgrade my rig and I also hope that someone can shed some light on my issues described above. I'm thankful for any help I can get. -Leonard
  3. A Montage Needs to Receive Smooths (Smooths = The pulsating slowing and accelerating of footage in an edit) The Beat: *__+__*__+__*__+__*__+ * = Bass + = Snare At each + a shot has to be fired. The video has been synced for that already. At each * the video should be slowed down to a exact unit "a%" using Twixtor. It has to be accelerated until + for the next shot. This digit at + is expressed through "b%" Find "a%" at * (a low digit representing slow motion) and "b%" at + (a high digit representing fast motion) If this would be easier with a concrete number, we'll say a = 30% Help is greatly appreciated, since I'm not the best at math. Thanks.
  4. So I've been trying to film a sunset time laps movie for a little movie project of mine and I've had the a couple of issues so far. I filmed the sun set for 30 minutes. Then I proceeded to speed up my footage. I'm not at home so I only have my macbook with me and only iMovie (yes, it hurts me too). Well anyway, the thing is that iMovie only lets you speed up the footage 2000%, as far as I know. That is no where close to enough to make the sun go down in about 5 seconds. ...So I've come up with another idea: I'm pretty sure I can make my camera take pictures consistently at pretty much any given frame rate. Here is where I need some help: To which frame rate do I have to set my camera in order to make a 30 minute video take 5 seconds when later set the footage to 30 fps? Thanks a lot for any help on this issue. Cheers' Leonard
  5. What kind of Cherry MX switches does it have?
  6. What about the CS Storm Quickfire Rapid? http://www.cmstorm.com/en/products/keyboards/quickfirerapidred/ That or the G2 pro? http://www.duckychannel.com.tw/en/DK9087_G2pro.html
  7. Yes mechanical. I don't nesecarily need macros. I'm rather flexible about other features and my price range goes up to about 150 Euros.
  8. I've been wanting a mechanical gaming keyboard (preferably for FPS games) for a long time now, and I've come to the conclusion that I want one with out the NumPad, or one on which the numpad can be switched to the left. Does anyone have an idea on which one I should buy? Thanks.
  9. I tried with only one stick, but same problem. :(
  10. Non animated: Fringe, The Big Bang Theory Animated: Family Guy, The Simpsons
  11. How can I tell if I've installed the bridge correctly?
  12. I recently build myself a new PC [specs: Intel i7 2600, asus maximus iv extreme, msi lightning r7970, kingston hyperX 1600mhz 2x4 gb ramkit, ocz fatality campion 1000w psu] Everytime I start my PC everything seems to work, but I don't get a post "beep" and nothing shows up on my screen! The only thing I noticed is the debug LED shows the number 60 meaning "DXE core is started". But after restarting a couple of times, the system boots normaly and everything seems to be working fine. And sugestions? Thanks.
