oh i now see what i was doing wrong i was confusing "CPU time %" with "CPU usage %" i had CPU time % lowered but that makes it pause every few seconds what i meant to change was max CPU usage % i now changed it and it now stays the same

i had some trouble with installing my watercooling but i am now up and running on the NumberField project however i noticed in task manager that Boinc has big "swings" in CPU usage it goes up to 98% and then down to 70% and then up again i think it has to do with the max CPU usage setting becouse if i put that on 70 then it goes up to 78% and down to 50% is this normal for Boinc or do i need to change my settings

where can you see the stats?

interesting i never thought about using multiple cards do i need any special software or tools to run with multuple GPU's without SLI? i still have a GTX 950 laying around that i could use

i have a Ryzen 5 2600X if i join a different project does it still add the "points" to the team or is it al categorized per project and not in total?

hi all, im new to Boinc any recommendations on what is a good project for CPU? i use my GPU for F@H

i managed to find some answeres - no stock cooler is not good enough (it was around 82 degrees celsius) - for now i completely removed CPU and went GPU only becouse in comparison the CPU is a waste of power. maybe if the power bill ends up not too high i will add the CPU again. monitoring can be done in the client and there is actually a guide in the FAQ thread here on LTT that i totally missed

Hi everyone i just started folding yesterday and im excited to be part of the team i have a Ryzen 5 2600X and a Nvidia GTX 1070 i have some questions (not sure if i am supposed to make a new post or not) - is the stock cooler for the CPU good enough? it is not overclocked and it works fine for games but im not sure how good it is for long time folding - are there more performance settings i can change? is it posible to only use GPU and not cpu? then i could use the pc normally and it would not have an impact on performance. is it also posible to limit the CPU usage to 75% or can you only control the amount of cores being used? - is there a way to make profiles? so lets say only use CPU and use 75% of it when not idle. when idle use 100% cpu and GPU i was also wondering if there is a way to monitor and/or control my pc from work? i noticed that when i installed the client on my work laptop and logged in on it, it would show my score. but it did not show how my pc was doing in real-time. it started folding on the laptop instead of controlling the PC. is it posible to control the pc from the client or should i just use RDP to control my pc at home?
