    I have tried with other cables on the same monitor but I don't get it so I'm assuming that its the cable that is being the fault. I have managed to get it back up to 60hz so Im going to get a new cable asap I will keep this thread updated.

    My other two monitors are both running happily at 60 hz

    Now everytime I try to put it to 60 hz the computer starts to freeze up until I need to restart it.

    Just tryed this morning the monitor will only accept 30hz now and the lines have become even more violent and common.

    It seems to be working fine at the moment I think it might have been some dust shorting out the connector on the monitor I will keep this thread updated.

    Hi, I'm coming to the forums today to get some help with and issue I have with my screen. The issue is when I first start my computer for the first 15 - 30 mins of it being on on my main screen that is an Acer CB281HK screen it has violent black and white vertical lines going across the screen with random spacing. I have tryed switching connectors and the same thing happens. Some other forums have said that it could be a problem with my ram seating but I don't see why it only happens after a boot of my pc then slowly goes away. Any suggestions would be appreciated.     Hey I'm looking for a laptop for school work and a bit of lite gaming. It needs to be practical (light) and in the price range of £600 - £900. I'm looking for a laptop that is light and future proofed for oncoming years. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Many thanks George
