I totally missed that menu o.O Thanks for that! And indeed, the customization is what really attracted me to NFS, and now it's gone :(

So, Since I bought Simcity, EA offered me a free game. I already owned ME3, so I decided to go for a the NFS game, since it's been a while since I last played one (I believe the last one I played was undercover) Now, I downloaded and started the game, and after getting over the fact that the devs have never heard about a mouse (all the menus are with the keyboard...) I hoped into the game and found.. nothing... Where's the game? you just get a car and a couple of races. there's no tuning (aside from the unlocks from winning races), you don't have a garage with cars in it, not do you have multiple cars (afaik). Is that really the entire game? I really felt sad. I knew the NFS games were going down in quality, but I never expected this. It's just not a NFS game anymore, as it lacks everything that made NFS fun aside from racing. I've never felt so disappointed about a game. NEVER. Even though I got it for free, I wish I'd chosen another of the games.

They're not cheaper where I live... (yes, I just checked. Might be different where you live) At least the High-end cards aren't. ATI just has more mid-range cards

I believe you want Nvidia for 3D and video, because of CUDA.

This goes both ways, but I don't believe either of them when they make such a statement...

Just because yours is loud doesn't mean that every XFX 6870 makes the same amount of noise. My old 560 Ti Hawk makes more noise than a vacuum cleaner, yet I haven't heard about those cards being loud. You might want to return it or re-apply the thermal paste.

Maybe, but a new franchise won't attract as much attention as a known name would. A "Darksiders 3" made by Vigil games would bring a lot of people that have played previous games. Starting a new IP, even if it's almost exactly the same as an existing one is both riskier and harder. All of the IP's sold on the auction can be recreated easily. If darksiders wasn't unique enough, then none of their franchises, aside from maybe saint's row is.

Dat fanboy rage *-_- No card destroys the other one. a 7970 performs better than a 680? Who actually cares that "their brand" performs better by as little as 1 FPS? You can run skyrim at 73FPS, but I can only run it at 72? Big deal. The whole "ATI vs Nvidia" thing is extremely exaggerated. I mostly advice Nvidia cards, but if I really want to be close to a budget I often look at ATI, who has a wider variety of cards. Why do I advice Nvidia? Because they work, and always have worked for me. ATI finally fixed their drivers. Nvidia had working drivers for ages (yes new releases have problems, but so does every new version of a program).

And you can buy new stuff with that money. If he can wait and save around 250-ish, he might be able to buy something like a 760Ti or a 8870.

Wait, fsx as in Flight simulator x? I believe I was able to max that out on a GT130M o.O BF3 and MP3 are a different story. I'd say a 680 is worth it if you can afford it. If not, a 670 performs nearly the same and a 660Ti is also an amazing card. I wouldn't go lower than a 660Ti though, just my opinion.
