  1. I don't think that the case makers will force anyone to mount the video card this way, you just have the option to do it so I don t see a problem with it. For the people who use windowed cases this is a much appreciated option. Also speaking for myself this is the only reason I ll consider switching from a s340 to another windowed case.
  2. I m using the pc just for casual gaming and web stuff so I know that there little need for the upgrade. But there s also an itch Thanks for the feedback.
  3. Hi everybody, I want some opinions regarding an upgrade path from i7 3770 to ryzen 1600 or 1700. Is it worth it ? Thank you.
  4. 1. If you are trying to decide between the RX480 and 1060 go for the 480. You will have no problems with either card on 1080p resolution, however the fact that the monitor has freesync makes that decision easy. 2. 1070 is overkill for 1080p at 60hz, however with it you also buy some peace of mind for the next few years.
  5. The reviewed board was a Gigabyte model not MSI. I'm currently using an MSI Gaming X and it maxes out at 70 degrees while playing Witcher3.
  6. Hello. My first guess would be that you have a 60hz monitor and you play with vsync on. true / false ?
  7. Hello, I've just paired a Sapphire RX480 Nitro+ with my Benq XL2730Z monitor in order to get Freesync up and running. I have never tested a Freesync setup before and I was hoping to detect some sort of improvement but so for I'm unable to do that. I'm wondering if Freesync works correctly in games or if I just can't see the stuff it does. The only place where I can see it at work is the windmill demo. Other games I have tested are Witcher 3, CS:GO, Crysis 2 but as I said before I see no difference when playing with Freesync on or off. Should I try other games that benefit more from this technology ? Is there a way to see the actual refresh rate the monitor is using during gameplay ? I have a "Current resolution" param in OSD under System -> Information but that never changes it stays at 2560x1440@144hz all the time (the Windows resolution). More details about my setup: - I use the original DP cable that came with the monitor but also tried a second one. - Freesync is enabled / disabled using Radeon settings software. - Radeon settings software reports the Freesync interval to be between 40-144hz (as it should) and the games I used to test run within that range - Windows 10, I7 3770, 8GB Ram. Any thoughts would be appreciated !
  8. Thanks for all the good feedback. As long as the custom rx 480 will be reasonably priced I will try to get one.
  9. Hi everybody, I just bought a new monitor during prime day, it s the BenQ XL2730Z. It is a qwhd 144hz freesync monitor. At the moment I'm using a strix 960 and that is not enough to play games at the native resolution. So after some research I need to decide between a rx480 8gb or a used gtx 980 (both ~270 euro). I will wait of course for the 1060 launch but I highly doubt that the 1060 can compete with a used 980 (price / performence). So the question is what do you think will be better : Higher framerates with the 980 or lower framerates and freesync with the rx480 ? Does 60fps and freesync feels better than 100fps no freesync ? Thanks !
  10. Hello, I am interested in buying a nzxt s340 razer edition and I have a question about the case lighting. Is it powered by white leds with green plastic / glass or are the leds green and the plastic / glass transparent. I'm asking this to know if replacing the default leds with rgb ones is an option.
