  1. Hello all! I just booted my PC and got a message saying "How would you like to open this file?" and gave me a list of apps. I tried opening it, but it said error, but it gave me the file name "Josh", my name. I'm confused as to why a file would open called "Josh". This is a pic of task manager's startup processes.
  2. Dead motherboard, sent it for RMA and they couldn't fix it. Replaced it.
  3. Hello all! I was running my PC yesterday (its about a year old) and this morning it won't power on. The LEDs on the motherboard won't even power on. Some trouble shooting I've done and failed: Used a known good PSU Unplugged and replugged every cable Used as least cables as I need Unplugged everything from the PC except for the bare minimum. Tried all 4 sticks of RAM individually. I'm thinking its a dead motherboard. This is the third motherboard that's died on me and I'm wondering if its all been my fault for having too many things connected at once.
  4. Hello all! This is a continuation of this thread: Summary: Power supply fails the self-test when plugged in. I was able to narrow the "bad" cable to the motherboard cable. I did the self test with just the motherboard cable and it fails, it passes with every other cable. However, I tested a different cable from my brother's computer (which is working) and it still fails. I think it's an internal short circuit. Any thoughts?
  5. Yeah, that's what I thought too, but I didn't want to undo everything just to have the same issue. I'll try this out and update this thread.
  6. Hello all! I tried turning on my PC today and it would not turn on. I was using it fine yesterday and this morning it doesn't turn on. I did the self test on the PSU and it just clicks but no green light and no fan spin. However, when I unplug every cable, the self test works, green light, and fan spin. What can this mean? Do I need a bigger PSU? Maybe there's a cable creating a short circuit? The reason I don't want to tear down my PC to re-connect everything is because it's in a water loop and it'll be a huge pain to find one bad cable.
  7. Friend gave me the monitor lol

  9. Hello all! I just purchased a new 144hz monitor. However, I don't have a cable that supports 144hz and I'm looking to see if I can find a cable or adapter. Monitor: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-GN246HL-Bbid-Widescreen-Response/dp/B00KO4518I/ref=pd_ybh_a_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=5NHQRPC14J6M63J9N009 This monitor comes with 1 HDMI that does not support 1080p @144hz, another VGA port that obviously doesn't support 1080p @144hz, and a DVI port, which is the only port that supports it. It came with a DVI to DVI cable that I was using with my 1080 to run at 144hz. However, I just upgraded to a 2080TI and it does not have a DVI port. So I need a DVI to either DisplayPort or HDMI 2.0 (GPU has it). However, I cannot seem to find a cable that is DisplayPort to DVI that supports 144hz and I can't find the HDMI to DVI that supports it either. Any advice? Thanks!
  10. Tried it in edge. Pressed the "Open" button instead of "Save". There is no "Run" button. It just opened the winRAR window...
  11. Yeah... I read it thinking it was instructions...

  13. I recently switched to Opera, lol. I love it. I did double click on it, thats what the vid shows.
  14. How do I run it? I downloaded it from Opera and I don't see the option to "run" it like on edge.
  15. Hello all! I just got a new LAN PCIe card and I have to install its drivers. I downloaded the drivers from the website link shown on the instructions included in the box. I went ahead and uploaded a video of what I get when extracting the ZIP file with winRAR. bandicam 2019-12-03 19-50-33-654_Trim.mp4
