  1. Another worry is if this will fry the motherboard as there are no Molex or 6 pin power to give additional power to the GPUs. These will all be 280W TDP GPUs
  2. To clarify, maybe I was not clear. I want to do 2 way SLI + 3rd + 4th GPU. 3rd and 4th GPU are NOT in SLI. Plus this is not for gaming. I just want to know if Ryzen has enough lanes to support this.
  3. It's fine that the 4th GPU runs off the 2.0 Chipset. I've seen a 1080 Ti comparison on 3.0 and 2.0 I'm sure you can find the image somewhere but 2.0 x4 was about 92% performance. I just want more performance. I had another thread last year asking about 3 GPUs and was confirmed to work using 8 CPU + 8 CPU + 4 PCH. Are you saying that it can run 8 CPU, 8 CPU, 4 CPU, and 4 PCH? I believe I stated this in my original post. I want SLI + 1 + 1. Where I stated the SLI would need 8 + 8 and the 3rd and 4th would not. This is the point of my thread. I'm super confused about Ryzen PCIe lanes. I even created another thread about PCIe lanes yesterday and it added more confusion. Not for gaming.
  4. I understand your perspective. This was the EXACT same for Threadripper 2000. Why buy the 2970WX when you can buy the 2990WX? I think the whole 3950X being released 2 months later is to mitigate the situation. This forces people itching to upgrade having to buy the 12 core if they don't want to wait another 2 months. If it was the other way around, 3950x in July then 3900X in September then there would be no point to the 12 core. Except for people specifically following a price-point and specifically looking for a 12 core.
  5. Hello, I am trying to figure out of the X570 Godlike and the Ryzen chips in general can do 4 way Nvidia GPUs. I do not want a discussion on getting Threadripper or HEDT. I want to do an SLI setting with 2 additional GPUs. So the SLI setup will already require 8+8. I know that Ryzen can handle 3 GPUs doing SLI + 3rd GPU. I want to know if Ryzen can handle SLI + 3rd + 4th GPU. Thank you very much.
  6. It's from a z170 to z170. How do I save the configs so I can restore them later after I reinstall FreeNAS OS?
  7. Hello, I switched my FreeNAS MB and mow I'm stuck at "Trying to mount root from zfs:freenas-boot/ROOT/11.2-U3 []... Any help appreciated. Thank you.
  8. Hello, I have pasted a picture below from an article I just read. It was to my understanding that previous Ryzen chipsets allowed for 32 total lanes. This accumulated to 24 CPU Lanes and 8 PCH lanes allowing 16 for GPU, 4 for M.2, and 4 for other while the 8 PCH lanes allowed 4 for Wi-Fi and 4 for other. Correct me if I'm wrong here. X490 was supposed to bring the count up to 32 CPU lanes and adding in the 8 PCH lanes that would give a total of 40 PCIe lanes. However, we know that X490 never came to fruition and we are stuck with 32 PCIe lanes (24+8). However, the picture below states 40 PCIe lanes. Does that mean that we are getting 32+8 this time around? Or does this simply just mean that the Ryzen 3000 chips like the 1000/2000 series are capable of 40 PCIe lanes and we are still going to have the same PCIe lanes as 1000/2000 motherboards?
  9. I was off about one thing and I did question it. It seems like the Titan RTX and the 2080 Ti and Below share the same NVLink connector. The 150$ difference was something I saw off of eBay for 220$ vs the 79.99$ price I remembered. After looking at the official NVidia page for the Titan RTX it shows a 79.99$ price tag. This leads me to believe that they are the same. @Princess Luna Furthermore, when you look on the Titan RTX page it states, "Double the effective GPU memory capacity to 48 GB and scale performance with up to 100 GB/s in total bandwidth of data transfer utilizing the NVIDIA NVLink™ technology." Looking at the Quadro 6000 it states that it can, "Connect two Quadro RTX 8000s together with a Quadro RTX 8000 NVLink HB Bridge for up to 100 GB/s of bandwidth and a combined 96 GB of GDDR6 memory to tackle your largest rendering, AI, virtual reality, or visualization workloads." From this article [Link here] it is stated that 2080 Ti have 100GB/s and the 2080 have 50GB/s bandwidth. So this probably means that the bandwidth capability is dictated by the GPUs. This is also why 2080 Ti's are able to Pool Memory unofficially. This feature seems to be locked by NVidia on the 2080 Ti cards. While the Titan RTX and the Quadro's can Pool Memory and they are also rated at 100GB/s bandwidth. Thought I can't seem to find the article for the 2080 Ti Memory Pooling anymore. @SavageNeo @Princess Luna Could you give me an article that shows more than 2? I have not been able to find one.
  10. The exact monitor that Glenwing stated 5k Ultrafine
  11. Hello, I've got some questions about NVLink and we like to know some of these. Links would be great too. I've been searching and not getting much answers. 1) According to this article from PugetSystems [Link here] the Quadro NVLink works with the RTX cards. Since the Quadro NVLink is the one that has a 2 slotter. However, I think I've read somewhere that the Quadro NVLinks have much higher bandwidth than the RTX NVLinks. Will this impact, take away, or else adversely affect performance or functionality? 2) Following up on #1, I read that the NVLinks are separated into: Quadro, Titan RTX, and RTX for 2080 Ti and lower. I think I read somewhere that the Quadros are able to have a 150GB/s transfer and the RTXs are able to have a 100GB/s transfer. Is this limitation due to the GPUs themselves or due to the NVLink where the Quadro has the 150GB/s and the RTX has the 100GB/s? Adversely, are the NVLINK for Titan RTX and the RTX for 2080 Ti and below exactly the same or is the Titan RTX Nvlink better? Because it's like 150$ more. 3) Is it possible to do 3 or 4 way NVLink? 4) I asked about this a while ago and someone stated that Nvidia has not enabled the ability to pool memory yet via NVLink. Are we able to or not yet? (I do not want any discussion about whether or not 2080 Ti can Pool memory or not) Thank you in advance.
  12. Actually, I ordered this exact one [Link Here] and it did not work. Unless I completely ordered the wrong product if there is another product that you know will work I'm willing to try it. And it is one of the Ultra Fines like Glenwing stated.
  13. Hello, I am wondering if the RTX GPU's support Thunderbolt 3 to connect to a Thunderbolt 3 only monitor. The monitor has no HDMI or DP, just a single TB3 port for display. So I am wondering if the RTX GPUs would be able to utilize this monitor. Thank you.
  14. Hello, I have searched up this issue on Google and have not seem to fix it. On my desktop which has a Ryzen processor works just fine but on my laptop with an Intel processor this problem occurs. When I try to send or receive a file >1GB in size from/to my laptop it will either pop up the 0x8007003B Error or it will transfer at 355KB/s. On my desktop it is working perfectly. I only stated the Ryzen/Intel processor in case it has any impact however I doubt it. The FreeNas is using an Intel 6th Gen i7 w/ 8GB RAM. Both the Laptop and the Desktop are set up the same practically. I have tried disabling Windows Defender and Windows Firewall. I have tried disabling my VPN. Both my laptop and desktop are running on the same Wi-Fi SSID name so no problems with using the wrong Wi-Fi. If there is anything I can try please advice. It is frustrating have to transfer files to a USB from Laptop then transfer to Desktop to transfer to FreeNAS.
  15. Do you know what I need to install? Because I've installed multiple things from the Driver page for the 9570 and my Idle RAM usage has jumped from 3.1GB to over 8GB now after installing multiple of the Dell Drivers.
  16. The first picture should have a button that changes the brightness. The second picture should have way more options. Including an option to change the max processor % usage.
  17. I can use the function keys to control it. However, I still want these features.
  18. Hello, I have a Dell XPS 9570 and I have no 0/25/50/75/100% brightness when I click on the battery icon at the bottom right. Additionally, when I go to power options> Change advanced power settings I only see Desktop background settings, Sleep, Power buttons and lid, Display, and Battery. There should be a lot more. Does Dell disable these options or is there something I need to download?
  19. Hello, I have a TB3 Monitor that is used to hook up into TB3 USB-C Ports on a laptop. It only has 1 TB3 port and 3 USB-C Ports on the monitor. However, would using a TB3 to DP like this work to allow a desktop GPU to work with the monitor? I have my doubts.
  20. Hello, I have a 9570 and I reinstalled Windows. No drives so showed up so I did some searching and had to switch to AHCI mode for my MVMe to show up in Windows Setup. It was originally setup as RAID which is probably how all 9570s are preset. Using SATA Mode Off and RAID reports no drive found and wants me to search for a storage driver. Continuing, I set the mode to AHCI and the drive shows up in Windows Setup. I complete setup. However, I do not have sleep mode anymore. When I close the lid the screen turns off but the laptop is still fully on with fan running and laptop getting hot. When I check sleep and power settings for when the lid is closed. Both battery and on charger is set to sleep. What can I do?
  21. I already stated it works in Titan RTX since it states it on the official site. The whole point of why I created this thread is for offline rendering. Additionally, I wouldn't want to spend 5k on GPUs to not have an application support VRAM Pooling and according to @BobVonBob VRAM Pooling isnt even available right now. So, idk if VRAM pooling works out of the box for everything as in I'll have 2x the VRAM all around or it will only work in specifically coded softwares. From what I'm getting you're saying that the program/software should simply receive a minor update to adjust to VRAM Pooling to shows the 2x VRAM of a pooled NVLink SLI Card? This won't be for gaming so I don't much care for those results.
  22. Didnt know that you couldnt pool VRAM yet. It will also work for the TITAN RTX. It says so on the official product page. Since VRAM Pooling is not a real thing yet then I guess no one besides nvidia knows the answer to this question.
  23. Hello, when pooling VRAM will it work in in general on all applications or will it only be supported in applications that are coded to support VRAM pooling? What happens if it does not support it and you have the 2 GPUs connected. Will it simply only use 1 of the 2 GPUs VRAM or will it error out?
  24. Since the switch runs at 720p is there any way to output the switch at 720p to a larger display without having the use the AC Charger/Adaptor? I don't want to output it at 1080p I just want to make it output on a bigger screen but still running at the normal 720p which is able to run off of the battery and not AC power.
  25. 1. I stated laptops that are capable of USB-C PD 2. That isnt my question, my question is in getting one of the power banks and am wonder if Laptop X is able to take 100W from the USB-C PD port.
