  1. Hello I plan on doing a new build, the purpose of the build is for gaming/running on a different windows account a vm with windows server 2016 and plex media server 24/7. The vm will be using 2 cores, 4 threads and 2gb of ram (already got the vm running with 2gb of ram and 4 cores on an old hp workstation, it's set to 4 cores because the xeons in the workstation don't have hyper-threading) The case that everything will go into is the ibox passion v4, I absolutely love this case, it's a true compact mATX case that looks good (in my opinion) and has the necessary space for everything you would want to put in it. Here is a link to it: https://www.photopoint.ee/en/computer-components/966480-ibox-case-passion-v4 For the cpu I haven't decided if to go with the ryzen 6 1600 or ryzen 7 1700. For ram I plan on going with one stick of 8gb 3000mhz ddr4 from whatever brand I can find the cheapest, and add another 8gb in the coming months (maybe it will go back down in price), or maybe just go with 16gb right now, haven't decided on this either. For the motherboard I was looking at the Biostar x370gt3, link below: https://www.amazon.com/Motherboard-X370GT3-Micro-ATX-Computer-Mainboard/dp/B0755RVR66 For storage I plan on going with an m.2 240gb drive and a few other 2tb hdd's that I use for plex. The cpu cooler will be the Arctic Freezer 33 TR. It will fit the case, should be able to do a decent job on cooling and also looks good. It's semi-modular, has nice black cables and doesn't break the bank. Link below: http://www.thermaltake.com/products-model.aspx?id=C_00001964 The graphics card I plan on using a 1050ti that I already have until I will be able to find something like a 1070 or 1080 for a decent price. This is still just planning, didn't really set a budget for this, would appreciate any opinions/suggestions.
  2. Yes they are, I'm using an ASRock z170m extreme4 in my system, great for overclocking also.
  3. For gaming the 5930k will be better, can't say exactly how much, but the max turbo of 3.1 doesn't really help the xeon here.
  4. The Asus Z97-A is a great choice and costs around 150 euros.
  5. Thank you for all the suggestions, didn't really have time to test them all out. But from the testing I've done, I managed to find out which was the bad stick. I tried one stick at a time, and also ran a stress test on the system memory with aida64, with only one stick of memory I get blue screens, and failed test in aida64. I guess it's safe to say that one stick is the problem, right?
  6. You talked to me the other day about the Corsair Air 240. Do you know if you can flip it over completely to have the window on the other side?

  7. Thank you, the case can be used either in ths orientation, or in the standard one, the rubber feet are't attached when you get the case and you can chose the orientation that best suits you, even the corsair logo in the front is magnetic and cand be rotated. I also suggest going for a z170 with a 6600k or 6700k if you want a dual graphics card config, for the mATX build you can get the asrock z170m extreme4 which is decently priced and supports crossfire and also SLI
  8. Thank you, with two of the sticks sometimes it boots and I get into windows and seems to work fine at 3000mhz, sometimes I get bluescreen, and sometime it's going into automatic windows repair and afer I press a few times enter it gets into windows or I get a bluescreen, by the way I forgot to mention, the SSD I've put in this system is from another PC and already had windows 10 installed from that system, could that be causing this behaviour? Didn;t really want to do a clean install of windows cause I've got an m.2 sm951 ssd of the way that will be the main drive for this system. PS: with all the 4 sticks of ram running at 2133 mhz I don't get any errors
  9. I personally prefer the mATX cases, last weekend I did a build in the air 240, still isn't 100% finished, still need to get some custom cables and a led strip, but this is is so far
  10. Consider the Corsair Air 240 case for the mATX bulit, it can fit 2 long video cards and also an 240mm radiator in the front.
  11. Hey guys, I've got two dual channel kits of the geil super luce 3000mhz ddr4 ram for a total of 16gb Whenever I set the xmp profile to 3000mhz the pc won't boot. The motherboard is an asrock z170m extreme4 with an i7 6700k cpu Any tips on I what might be doing wrong? I've attached a picture of the specs of the ram
  12. Thank you, I will be looking into those, but most of those parts are hard to find here, and the shops that have them are overpriced.
  13. Didn't even notice it, my mind read it the right way lol
  14. Exactly, all the traveling is done by car, and I don't need to take the monitor with me.
