  2. Whats up guys! Just curious on what everyone is getting for there Overclocks on there i5 4690ks?? Im running at 4.4ghz right now with no problems and good temps, i could probably push it more but i havent tried... What are you guys getting?
  3. yes temps stay fine, only are going about 3 or so degrees higher than they were stock clock
  4. Yep!! good to go, only went up only 100 or so on score but still better than crashing!
  5. yes something crashed 2 times so i had to dial back on my OC.. i guess ill try to re boot
  6. Hey guys, so i started on my GPU overclock today with MSI Afterburner. I did a test on Unigine Heaven benchmark before i overclocked to get the base test. I got a score 1774 ans fps of 70.4. Then i started my overclock, i let heaven run in a windowed mode, and kept bringing settings up. Finally i got to where i wanted it. But then i tried the benchmark again, and my score went down to 800 ish, and a average frames of 30??? so i thought i fucked up somewhere, so i reset everything back to where it was and it didnt improve at all, still around a score of 800... Did i break something? Temps stayed normal throughout the whole process. Btw im running a EVGA GTX 960.
  7. arma 3 i got up to 80 degrees, i play fallout on ultra so that could be it?
  8. im not here to argue about CPUs
  9. i dont have any thermal paste:( could i just try re setting the cooler? or will i screw it up more if i dont have paste
  10. nope everything is stock
  11. Hey guys, just curious on if anyone with a 4690k has issues with heat? I am running it with a stock cooler, and i know im not going to get great temps, but i was playing fallout 4 for about an hour or so, and i hit 93 degrees Celsius... im going to watercool it here soon. Should i avoid playing games until then? Am i damaging my cpu? thanks for any input
  12. just used blend in prime95 instead. helped a little, highest it got was 86, which i still obviously dont like. but its not as bad as 100. also on realtemp its showing thermal status of each core, 2 of them say "ok" and other 2 say "LOG" in bold red. any idea what this means?
  13. yes cooler is mounted fine, has never been taken off sense installation and it had the pre applied thermal paste. im not too serious about overclocking, it was my first time dinking with it. once i do a case swap in the next month or so, im also going to throw a liquid cooler in it, then ill probably try to OC it a good amount
  14. hey guys i need some help. as the title says my cpu is hitting 100* Celsius, and its how quick it hits that worries me. I was going to overclock my cpu today, so i decided to do some benchmarks, and stress tests to get a baseline. Once i start up prime95 my cpu temps skyrocket so quick, literally they hit 100*c within 5 seconds. Ive used multiple temp reading programs to make sure i wasnt getting a mis reading. So i dont know what to do, i feel like somethings wrong, it just shouldnt be getting that hot, that quick. My computer is lacking when it comes to cooling, but i didnt think it could make it this bad.. i guess ill list my build so you know what im working with. -intel 15 4690k, 8gb of corsair vengance ram, asrock h97m motherboard, evga gtx 960 ssc, evga 430w psu, etc. stock cooling completely any thoughts? thanks guys
