  1. Well keep in mind that some chips just don't overclock that well, you might just be unlucky.
  2. Right click the volume icon in the bottom right >> playback devices >> communications >> do nothing.
  3. I'm assuming you haven't overclocked? How did you apply the thermal paste?
  4. Well since you backed everything up, do a factory reset, wipe all the caches and reinstall the latest (stable) version of CM manually?
  5. Record a short clip of silence with that microphone and use that as a filter, that's probably the best you can do.
  6. Well you might as well do it for your friend, it's not like you'll be losing performance. Let's just hope you don't like shadowplay or Gsync
  7. It's not something I would've done. That's just a side step, not an upgrade. If you would've waited another year with the 760, you could've gotten something much better for the same price.
  8. Wait a sec, is there a particular reason for you getting an 280? If you're doing it as an upgrade, well... that's a terrible upgrade
  9. Looks pretty good, the only thing I would suggest would be to swap out the 780ti for 2x R9 290s. Maybe get some cheaper RAM if you want to save some money.
  10. Oh and the icing on the cake... The moderator had a minecraft profile pic, he's probably 13 himself.
  11. They aren't tech forums My one and only tech forums shall be LTT!
  12. TL;DR I'm expressing my new found appreciation for the LTT mod team. I'm not trying to be a kiss ass or look for attention, I would like to thank the mod team for doing what they do exceptionally well! I've been venturing out into a few other forums recently (not tech forums!) and just earlier today I had a 'run in' with the mod team of another forum (which I won't name) which made me think about all this time I've spent on LTT and how I've never had any major issues with any of the moderators. Here's what happened on this other forum: <rant> Some kid (12-14 years old) posted a topic asking for people to send him money on paypal so he can buy a new microphone. Obviously I and several other proceeded to call him out on his crap. I ended up making 3 posts on that topic, this is pretty much what they were (they got deleted): #1 - Don't just ask people for money, it's not cool. [Others tell him to get a job, he says he's too young to work, I reply...] #2 - I hear this 'too young' BS (I actually said BS, not bullshit or anything else) way too often, I used to work in the fields with my farmer neighbor picking tomatoes when I was 8, for 2 euros/hour. [He replies saying I shouldn't cuss at children and that I should just leave because he doesn't like to be cussed at] #3 - Oh so you're too young to be cussed at, but you're old enough to ask people to give you their money? What you're doing here is quite pathetic. That's it, I'm not downplaying anything, those were pretty much the words used. A few minutes later I have like 4 PMs.. 3 for removed posts (inappropriate behavior) and 1 for a warning point, if I get another warning (so total of 2) I'll be banned. Meanwhile the post of the little kid begging for money is still up, because that's not inappropriate behavior... </rant> So there we go! Thank you LTT mod team for being awesome, I can truly appreciate you guys now that I have some more experience on other forums. You let us go about our business and only intervene when it's truly necessary, so please keep doing what you're doing! Thanks for reading my rant and hopefully I'm not just an asshole that cusses at kids kthxbai
  13. Go refurbished on any other component but the PSU... It's the only part that can literally break every other part if it's defective.
  14. It might be recommended, but it by no means "has to be". I think it was tek syndicate that ran an overclocked 780ti (or something along those lines) on a 450w.
  15. The Corsair K70 RGB might be in that price range, I'm not exactly sure. How soon are you looking to buy?
  16. 500-600W will do. Just make sure it has at least an 80+ Bronze rating.
  17. Cacao

Awesome, won the grand prize of Stinky Footboar…

    Yaaaaaaayyyyy oh wait...
  18. Surprise surprise... I'm gonna recommend the CM Hyper 212 EVO
  19. Uuuuuuuuuummmm well I'll take a mountain, I guess.
  20. This could be a good baseline, maybe switch out the CPU for an i7 and/or get some more storage. 21. With a GTX 770 you have no chance of taking advantage of either one of those. Maybe just get a 60Hz 1440p monitor? That will cut your cost in 1/2.
  22. You should really only consider the Titan if you're going to be playing at a ridiculously high resolution, then again, if you're not you probably wouldn't need 2 780Tis. What I'm trying to say is, what resolution and what kind of games will you be playing?
