After some looking around I think I will most likely go with a new pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm. The used market was not any significant amount less to warrant the added risk. Thanks to everyone for their input!

Thanks for the suggestions. Out of curiosity are there any others that you recommend? Couldn't find much of either on the used market for cheap so additionally which would you say is more worth it for its price point?

My old headphones recently bit the dust (for context I am coming from the ATH-Pro700MK2) and I am in the market for some new ones of similar quality. It is important that they be closed back as I don't want sound leakage (I'll be living in a dorm). I have browsed some of the past headphone recommendation posts and saw many different headsets recommended of which I will include a list below. I wont specify a budget as I plan to leverage the used market (OfferUp, LetGo, etc.) to hopefully find some decent ones on the cheap. I'm not sure if this helps but I also have a pair of Brainwavz Sheepskin Ear Pads I took of the Mk2s. I also already have a mic (AT2020) so that is not an issue. I plan to do gaming and listening to music mostly with the occasional movie most likely. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Headphones I have seen recommended: ATH-m50x Have heard they lack a wide sound-stage and Imaging ATH-m40x Have seen them recommended but not much reason why DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm Non-detachable cable isn't great

I would use it as a blend between a laptop and desktop because I can't afford to have both.
