  1. Ok, here's my updated build using a 10900K and an ASUS Motherboard... Still debating about the graphics card though. I dropped the 4TB hard drive because the case only holds 5 3.5" drives and my current media server already has 5 drives that I'd be migrating to this box PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i9-10900K 3.7 GHz 10-Core Processor $529.99 @ Best Buy CPU Cooler be quiet! 2. my goal is to build a media server and a gaming server into 1 box rather than having 2 machines, I figured the extra cores of the 10980 would be good for that, but if the 10900 is enough for gaming + streaming at the same time, then I absolutely am for saving a couple hundred dollars. why's that? I've run a couple of machines with MSI motherboards and never had any issues.
  3. So, I've been thinking about a new build for a few days now, and I put the below together PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i9-10980XE 3 GHz 18-Core Processor $999.99 @ Best Buy CPU Cooler be quiet! Seeing as the RTX 2080TI is almost 2 years old, and following the rumor mill, it seems like within the next few months we're likely to see an RTX 3000 series card. My question is, do I build the rig as is and cry when the next day the 3000 series is released, or do I build the rig sans-graphics card and use my current one (a GTX-980) until the 3000 Series is released. I know the old adage of if you wait for the newest part, you'll never build anything, but I'm not entirely sure about it in this case. Thoughts?
  4. I would use it as an easier version of the Fallout Bomb PC build for LAN parties and general awesomeness
