  1. Actually after doing some test between Vegas and Premiere it would seem neither use GPU for rendering anymore. Or maybe that just my current card.
  2. The Blu-ray drive is fluff really and I figured at some point I may SLI another card in. Thought I may need the extra power. My only hold up on Windows 10 is that there still seems to be some hiccups with some of the software that I use on a daily basis. I use it on my laptop and dont mind it at all.
  3. By all means correct me if I am wrong but isn't the 5820k a generation behind? Or is that just not really a factor at this time?
  4. So looking to build a new PC, big surprise right? Little bit of a background, I have built two pcs in the past but in no way would I consider myself an expert. Just knowing enough to figure out where to look to fix most problems. My Current PC Build: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($164.89 @ OutletPC) CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($129.89 @ OutletPC) Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($79.88 @ OutletPC) Storage: Toshiba Q Series Pro 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($87.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.89 @ OutletPC) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($51.88 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB ACX Video Card Case: be quiet! Silent Base 800 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($54.99 @ Newegg) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 OEM (64-bit) ($89.99 @ NCIX US) Total: $729.40 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-11-16 11:24 EST-0500 This beauty has been my daily driver for the last 3 years roughly with small upgrades here and there. My computer is used for gaming, recording that gameplay, editing/rendering that footage, uploading to youtube, and streaming to twitch. Games include currently Ark and Fallout 4 but I often sprinkle many indie games in there as well. My recording and streaming software is OBS and editing software is Sony Vegas 13 but trying to swap to Adobe Premiere. So the build I have assembled for myself is as follows: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($389.99 @ Newegg) CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX 70.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($99.99 @ Micro Center) Motherboard: EVGA Z170 FTW ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($169.99 @ Micro Center) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($124.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung XP941 Series 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($311.90 @ Amazon) Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($116.63 @ Amazon) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ Video Card ($649.99 @ Amazon) Case: be quiet! Silent Base 800 (Silver) ATX Mid Tower Case ($129.99 @ NCIX US) Power Supply: Corsair 1000W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($188.99 @ Amazon) Optical Drive: LG WH16NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer ($47.00 @ Adorama) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 OEM (64-bit) ($128.97 @ OutletPC) Total: $2358.43 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-11-16 11:32 EST-0500 So my major concerns with this build is the CPU. I honestly know very little about Intel CPUs. I chose this one after watching many youtube videos. Also torn between this GPU above and the Gigabyte Windforce I think is what it was called. I would say that I am about 3 weeks away from ordering all the beautiful parts listed above and maybe even get a little lucky to catch some on a black friday or cyber monday sale. I know this is a lot for one system to really handle. Gaming and capturing/streaming footage can really be a strain from what I have read. Will this system hold up to what I ask of it? Thanks for your input and time.
  5. Definitely thinking this could make a great PC for the living room setup or maybe even a mobile PC. Could even be a great little steam machine in some cases.
