Have you checked to see if there is anything inside of it, dust or dirt blobking the contacts is possible.

Resoldering it isnmt worth it, one mistake and you could kill the board. There are usb to audio connectors that are pretty cheap if you need a rear microphone input.

Wow! I didn't think of this. Thanks for the suggestion. USB ftw!

  2. Need help guys! I've been using this Gigabyte GA-Z87N-WIFI for more than a year now and I noticed that the microphone jack is not working. I have tried everything. Reinstalled drivers. Freshly changed the OS. Still not working. but all the other jacks are still working fine. Can this problem still be fixed? Needs resoldering I think??? Btw the front microphone jack from my silverstone case is working fine.

  3. It really depends on what games you are playing. I'm playing CS:GO and Dota 2 and I can say 8gb is more than enough. I can also play GTA V high settings on 8gb but it reaches to 6.8gb without chrome on task manager, planning to upgrade to 16gb on my next build. 16gb will be the new norm for new games.

    you have two options

if you want to keep your stuff - start the W10 install from inside W7

if you want a clean install, boot from the W10 sitck and use the W7 key when prompted

If I install w10 inside w7 will it retain some bloatware from w7 after I finish the installation of w10?

@OrdsWell I wrote the OP nearly 2 years ago, and mine still work. Didn't think they still made them.

The comply tips tear pretty easily though. First pair took me 3 months to wear through, but each subsequent pair lasted about 2 weeks, so I ended up switching back to the silicon tips.

This is good news! Thanks for the reply, looking forward on these. :)

if you have frequent brown/blackouts, yes

i invested in a UPS even thought i've only faced 2 blackouts in 10 years, because having a blackout for your computer is not fun lol

Many suggests that I get the APC Brand UPS

brown/blackouts wont damage your hard disk unless your psu have crappy safety features

what a bad ssd will do during a blackout is data corruption as it doesnt have enough capacitance to finish off what it was doing after it lost power lol

but damaging is rare, if not none

I got the  SilverStone SST-ST45SF as my PSU
