Today's random bit of tech fuckery:

- play.google.com makes my screen go completely black (no taskbar, anything) whenever I visit the website, both using Edge and Chrome

- Uninstall java 64-bit and install java 32-bit

- now play.google.com only makes my screen go black on Edge. (which is my browser of choice -- call me a heretic)

- switch display to motherboard iGPU output

- problem disappears (but I still want to use my GPU as a video output, so problem is not fixed)

- DDU and Reinstall

- play.google.com makes my screen flash between black and normal for about 30 seconds

- problem disappears.

- what the fuck?!
