  1. Summary: South Korea has passed a law limiting Apple and Google control over payment methods. The new law says that app developers must be allowed to choose the payment processor of their choice, bypassing Apple or Google altogether if they so wish. Apple and Google have both responded saying the new law is damaging to them. The law is awaiting signature by the president. My thoughts: I know this doesn’t mean anything for North America right now. But usually once one country enacts a law of this sort, other countries follow suit shortly after, or pass a law similar. It’s not a win-win yet, but it’s a first step in the right direction. And hopefully this new law in South Korea will be able to help Epic in their current lawsuit against Apple. 2. Microsoft may be allowing all Xbox One games to PC. We may finally get those exclusives. http://www.theverge.com/2016/6/7/11874792/first-click-microsoft-could-turn-every-pc-into-an-xbox
  3. https://chrome.googleblog.com/2016/05/the-google-play-store-coming-to.html?m=1 Google just announced Android apps on Chrome OS. I love my Windows 10 laptop, but just as a light browsing laptop at work, this makes them look even more appealing. Anyone else may consider one with this news?
  4. So thanks for the replies. It wasn't the timing. The voltage was set too low out of the box. The bios had it set for 1.4 and I read somewhere that AMD systems needed the memory set to 1.7. So I did and been running fine ever since.
  5. I just built a new system. The only part I reused was the CPU. When I have all 4 sticks of ram in, it will freeze during boot. Couple of reboots, once in windows all is good. Remove 2 sticks, never freezes. Is there a bios setting messing with it? Mobo: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 850 Ram: 4x4 GB 1600 G.Skill Ripjaws
  6. If your rig is hooked up to your living room TV, it looks like part of the entertainment system and saves space.
  7. I have an AMD FX-8350 black edition not OC'd. What about the Corsair H110i?
  8. I was only talking about the CPU basically. I just asked about VRM and GPU because I didn't know if that was common practice. If I can just get a prebuilt for the CPU only, that would be fine. I can't tell you my temps right now, my motherboard gave out and I'm about to rebuild my system. That's why I wanted to know about cooling, so I could buy the parts.
  9. Around 350 I would be comfortable with.
  10. Budget not really an issue as I can buy parts as needed. Just no crazy high number. I wouldn't mind building my own as long as I had some clear instructions. Also, I want it to look neat, so if it is DIY, nothing janky.
  11. So I've never water cooled before. I really want to. I've been looking on Newegg at the prebuilt systems, and it looks like its just a radiator with tubing connected to the CPU block. The pump is either built into the radiator or block, am I correct? Because they all say that they come prefilled. Aren't you supposed to cool the chipset as well? I've seen many systems where the CPU, chipset, and GPU all get cooled. Even the DIY kits I've seen only cool the CPU. Would only cooling the CPU be feasible? Do I buy a prebuilt kit to cool the CPU and another to cool the GPU? Any help would be appreciated, because I have no idea what I'm looking for.
  12. It can have a 360mm radiator on the front or a 420mm on top. Is that what you mean? I'm was going to start out just cooling the CPU and then later cool the GPU once I upgrade my graphics card.
  13. Hello all. So my computer died and its time to rebuild. The case is a Fractal Design Define S. I'm going to watercool it, first time doing so. I'm looking at a Corsair H60. My question would be fan placement for the radiator. I'm not sure if I should set up for intake or exhaust. The case has 1 fan for front and 1 for back, plus the radiator fan. What should be the placement of these?
