  1. Favourite thing? Definitely the screen!
  2. Hi there. I was working on my first build, when I encountered a pretty serious problem.... My motherboard, the gigabyte G1 Sniper Z87 requires an 8 pin 12 volt ATX power connector, yet the "1 x 8 / 4-Pin EPS / ATX 12V connector" supplied with my power supply (which has 2, 4 pin connectors on the end), won't fit...my PSU is the silverstone strider plus 850, http://silverstonetek.com/product.php?area=en&pid=239 I think I've just made a terrible mistake in thinking that this PSU was compatible with my motherboard. Is there anything I can do? Edit: I also found this on the internet: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/339581-28-slot The guy who responded says that it might fit anyway, despite the shape pattern being different....not too sure about that... Thanks for you help.
  3. Hi guys, I'm building a computer with one 250 GB SSD for my OS, and a 2TB HDD for file dumping. Should I be using the IDE setting or the AHCI setting? I'll be using windows 8.1, with a gigabyte G1 Sniper Z87 M.B.....I have very little experience in this area, and honestly I can't even say I knew about it before the parts arrived . Thanks for your help! =)
  4. Seems some people are getting issues, and others aren't. I just updated my original post with a screenshot, too.
  5. It only seems to be affecting certain pages...
  6. Okay...so I'm not really sure whether I'm just being trolled here... I was looking for some ram specs when I noticed this: http://www.adata-group.com/ EDIT: It seems some people are getting the image displayed above, and for others the website is fine. Could this be a regional thing? EDIT: Looks like the website's back online...
  7. Hi guys. I'm going to do a build with a gtx 770. I'm currently using a 1080p monitor, but I might want to upgrade to a 1440p one a bit later on. Will 2GB of VRAM be enough, or should I spend the extra money on a 4GB model? Thanks for you time.
  8. Hi guys. I wanted to do a build with one gtx 770 now, and maybe add a second 6 months down the road when I have the money. I've looked around and 850 watts would seem to be the way to go. But I'm aware that there are other other factors beyond just the wattage influencing the ability of the PSU... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371067 Would this PSU be of sufficient quality/power etc? (Note that this build will also have an overclocked 4770k) Thanks for your time.
  9. Hi there This is my first ever computer build (so please don't flame me =( ), and while I know a little amount about computer hardware already from reading, etc, I have almost no idea how to choose a motherboard to suit my needs. My build is currently looking a bit like this (subject to change, no doubt): i7 4770k Gigabyte GTX 770 (with plans to add another 770 in 12 months or so) A-data premier pro SP900 128 GB SSD Seagate 2 TB HDD Antec High Current Gamer 850w PSU A-Data XPG 8gb 2133 mh/z ram Cooler Master Seidon 240m Win 8 Cooler master N600 (on a side note, if you have anymore advice regarding the specs, please, go ahead) I'd probably be wanting to do some reasonable overclocking so I can get more bang for my buck. From what I've seen so far, these boards all seem to have reasonable features around my price range: MSI Z87-G45 Asus Z87-Plus ASRock Z87 Extreme6 Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 Gigabyte Z87x-OC All these seem pretty reasonable, however I do not have the skills needed to properly select one. Thanks in advance =)
