  1. Thanks, after looking at that article I’ll probably just leave it at 2600mhz.
  2. I just built a pc with a 5960x, an asus rampage v edition 10, and x2 8gb sticks of gskill 3200mhz ram. When I tried to overclock the ram to 3200mhz using the xmp the system doesn’t boot and I have to reset the bios. The same thing happens when I use the asus over clock presets and when I manually set the ram to 3200mhz and leave the rest on auto. I have tried increasing the ram voltage but that doesn’t seem to help and that is the only setting I felt comfortable adjusting because I don’t know much about ram overclocking. I have the same ram in another sky lake pc with a very similar motherboard and xmp works just fine so I don’t know what’s going on. One other thing in I have been able to get the ram to run at 2600mhz up from the base of 2133mhz by manually changing the speed but anything above that and the system won’t boot. I just want to get it running at 3200mhz, thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks for your feed back. There is good airflow. I’ll probably end up contacting gigabyte.
  4. I've had this ongoing issue where I play a game for ten to fifteen minutes and my fps slowly drops, for example in Destiny 2 I get 100-110 fps, then 80-90, then around 70, then 60, and then it usually ends up between 40 and 50. In addition to this after exiting the game and running user bench my gpu performance seems to drop significantly. I have the latest drivers and have tried DDU, also the temps of both my cpu and gpu stay in between 50 and 60 C most of the time. My PC: 6700K overclocked to 4.6Ghz Gigabyte Aurous Xtreme 1080 ti 32 Gbs 3200 DDR4 Asus Maximus VIII extreme edition 240Gb SSD 1Tb western digital black HDD Cosair ax760 psu Cosair h115i aio cooler Windows 10 Pro 64 bit 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor Before and After userbench pictures for GPU:
  5. Yes, i usually use geforce experience to update my drivers, i'll try a DDU. Thanks for the adivce.
  6. Hi, recently when i'm playing Destiny 2 i start off getting around 90-100 fps but after playing for around 15 min my fps drops to around 40-50 fps. I haven't been able to find any explanation for this as my thermals are good and my drivers are up to date. My PC: 6700k overclocked to 4.6GHz Gigibyte arous xtreme 1080ti Asus maximus VIII mobo 32 gbs of gskill 3200 ram kingstons ssd 240gb 1tb western digital black hdd cosair ax 760 psu cosair h115i aio cooler. Below I've included some pictures showing user bench before playing D2, GPU and CPU specs/ thermals while playing and getting good fps, GPU and CPU specs/ thermals while playing and getting bad fps, and user bench results after playing the game and having fps drop. Anything helps, thanks for your feedback.
  7. That was while a game was running it’s just a different monitor.
  8. This was in game on a different monitor
  9. I have a gigabyte gtx 1080 ti aurous xtreme edition and 6700k. I mainly play destiny two and after playing for about 15 minutes and getting 90-120 FPS my FPS drops all the way down to around 20 and stays there. Here is a screen shot of some stats when it is running slow.
  10. Thanks for the reply, here’s what I found: When running well CPU 65% usage 55-70c GPU 97-100% usage 63c Running bad CPU 20% usage 47-50c GPU 100% usage 54c also here is a picture of some stats when my pc was running bad-
  11. I have been experiencing a strange issue with my Pc. I have a 6700k, 1080 ti, 32 gb of ram, and an asus maximus viii extreme mob. I mainly play destiny 2 and the game runs fine at about 100 FPS but after playing for about 10-15 min my FPS drops to around 55 and stays there. I also ran user bench before playing and scored a 127 then ran it again after experiencing the issue and my score dropped to a 99 which it says my GPU performance dropped. My drivers are up to date and so is windows. If anyone has any idea on what’s wrong help would be greatly appreciated.
