  1. I seem to have found the source. Dropping the Real-time Reflection setting corrected it. So I'm thinking it was a game specific issue at 4k resolution. I'll have to poke at it with another game to be sure. Also, thanks for that link! I've updated my drivers but I'll double check other areas just in case I missed an update.
  2. I'm looking to replace the NZXT fan my case came with since it's causing a rattle noise, and am looking for a fan that will be noticeably quiet under load. Price really isn't an issue. Just want a good silent case fan.
  3. Been playing Final Fantasy XIV at 4k the last few days and during two incidents where I've switched from Borderline Windows to Full Screen and back, I've gotten a System Error Exception (dxgkrnl.sys) that promptly crashes my whole computer. While it doesn't always happen, this is now the second time and I'd like to know the cause. Of further note, whenever I do attempt Full Screen, the picture display has noticeable motion blur issues-- almost like a bit light washes over the screen. So I've also wondered if either my GPU or monitor (which is a TV) simply can't handle 4k. Specs CPU: Skylake i5-6600k @ 3.50GHz RAM 16.0 GM GPU: GTX 980ti Looking into the game files myself just now, I noticed this "SYSTEM_GRAPHICS_DISPLAY_MODE 3840 x 2160 (32 bit) (60Hz)". I use an 64 bit OS. Could that be part of the issue by chance? In any case, would very much appreciate any help.
  4. Awesome! Thank you. Only build it a few months ago and can't help worry over it. Might just look into doing this as I would like to keep it quieter. Thanks for the tip.
  5. Those are all very different games. If you're looking for a massive open world, story centric game that will keep you occupied for hours, Witcher 3 is by far the best choice. It's a phenomenal game with a staggering amount of things to do, but again, it heavily focuses upon world building and character development. So if you're more into the action oriented games like Call of Duty, you may fit it a tad overwhelming. Of those listed, Witcher 3 is the only one I can really comment on though.
  6. I've noticed my fans speeding up somewhat and on downloading Speedfan to check temperatures, it read 60-61 on idle or on minimal use (chrome/youtube) and 66-71 while under a heavier load (game running). Just wanted to know if these temperature are normal or if I should readjust my fans for better cooling. CPU: i5 6600 Skylake CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken GPU: Zotac GTX 980ti Case: Noctis 450
  7. Those are the ones I'm looking at, yes. Just looking for opinions on them.
  8. Currently have Logitech's g502. And while I love the thing, it's not entirely optimal for FFXIV-- my mine MMO. So I'm thinking of picking up a second one and looking for any recommendations. At the moment, I'm leaning towards the g600, but have also heard good things about the Razer Naga and Corsair Vengeance M95. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
  9. Oh, I could tell, especially after loading youtube at 4k. I just wanted to know what was causing that site error.
  10. Okay, I figured it was something silly. My scaling is set 200%, but the native resolution thing in nvidia's control panel threw me off. And yes @Bittenfleax both are set at 3840x2160. First PC I've ever built. So even the little things make me nervous. Thanks again!
  11. Having a sort of odd "problem"? I recently played around with my resolution; switching it to various ones quite a few times. At the moment, it's set to 3840x2160, but according to this site here, it's still locked at 1920x1080. So I'm wondering if there's a problem. Opening up the Nvidia control panel has my GPU (GTX 980ti) at a native 1920x1080 despite both my resolutions changed, and I'm using a 4k TV as a monitor. As you can tell, I'm very new with a lot of this, so any help is very much appreciated.
  12. Just recently built my first PC and cannot get the fan hud to work. I've connected it to both the CPU_Fan and CPU_OPT ports on my motherboard, but none of the fans connected to it turn on. My cooler fans work fine, just none connected to the case's fan hud. Any idea what could be the problem?
  13. Going for a white and blue theme, and while initially have been eyeing the Z170A Krait. I read it struggles with sli, so I wanted to ask about that as I eventually want to run two 980tis. Would this be feasible. And if not, what would be a good alternative?
  14. Currently in the midst of putting together my first PC and need some CPU advice. Originally, I thought of purchasing the i7-6700k, but it's out of stock. So now I am debating between waiting on it or looking at the i5-6600k or i7-4790K. On newegg.ca, there's a $150 difference over them. Which would be better on performance, or is waiting on the 6700k still the best idea? This will be strictly for gaming as I don't do any editing whatsoever.
  15. Trying to decide on a good pair headphones after finally stepping away from "gaming" variations. I've heard a lot of good things about sennheiser hd 600, but would appreciate some input. Budget wise is around $500 Canadian or thereabouts.
