  1. Hello everyone, I am dealing with a rather annoying problem. To cut it short and sweet, I currently have a 6800 XT paired with a 1440p monitor. I have made a custom resolution so I can stream to my s22 ultra(using the full phone screen) via steam link. My issue I am having is that, when I hop back on my PC after I am done streaming, I have to switch the resolution.. Which isn't the annoying part, the annoying part is by simply switching the resolution doesn't actually change the active resolution. I have to go into the display adapter properties(at the bottom of the first screenshot) and set the resolution there. Anyone have any idea if it is possible that I can NOT dig all the way into display adapter properties to do this? Is this only a AMD thing? I've had Nvidia for the last 10 years, but I optd to go AMD this round. Any help? Thanks.
  2. Hey all, Buying parts and looking at deals... For my power supply I have my eye on this 850w super flower leadex V plat. I believe this is a solid psu, I see the leadex series is good on the tier list. But anyone have an opinion? Has a pretty good price currently. Thanks https://www.newegg.com/super-flower-leadex-v-platinum-pro-sf-850f14tp-850w/p/1HU-024C-00043?Item=9SIAMNPF9M4221&Source=socialshare&cm_mmc=snc-social-_-sr-_-9SIAMNPF9M4221-_-11092022
  3. For all we know, the charts they shared during the release presentation could of included FSR and S.A.M. No one knows until the cards are in the hands of the public and benchmarks are posted. But as it's a feature I feel like AMD will definitely keep using as it helps there eco system of products work together. Buy all AMD vs buying a intel or nvidia product.
  4. Download MSI Afterburner and run that to show graphs. You can see the GPU usage / cpu usage etc. Run that when you play pubg and see what it shows. Also, Alt+Z ingame to pull up the nvidia ingame menu... go over to the cog symbol, then hud layout, then enable the fps counter. Basically, what we need at min is the GPU Usage %, the CPU Usage % , and what FPS you are getting while you're playing a game.
  5. 2060 should be just fine, I just looked it up on the UK amazon site. I even edited it to deliver to romania. (looked up a random 2022 benchmark for the screenshot below so it shows everything). Also, Technically I'm more of a AMD guy now, but looking at the UK amazon site, its a bit hard to find stuff in stock. But this should be more then enough. https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-GeForce-Express-1365MHz-1785MHz-14000MHz/dp/B07V1Y6Y2J/ref=sr_1_8?crid=3HOOLH9RTSKL3&keywords=6600&qid=1667937437&refinements=p_76%3A419159031&rnid=419157031&rps=1&sprefix=6600%2Caps%2C178&sr=8-8 For comparison:
  6. It's all want, I could easily get by with a 6750 xt for half the price (Which I am considering haha) I'll be gaming at 1440p and not 4k.
  7. Hey all, As the new cards gets released on Dec 13th... What are the actual odds that they will be in stock to buy? I can only imagine once they get released they'll be sold out for a long time, and be really hard to buy. I'm building a PC and will have everything by the end of the month, I was going to get a 6950 XT as its around 3090 performance and its price cut is down to 800. I would absolutely love to get a 7900, but I feel I wouldn't be able too for a few month as stock will probably sell out. Note: I'll be gaming on a 1440p display, feel the 6950 XT has enough power to be at 1440p for awhile yet. Thoughts? Stick with the 6950 XT or wait and hope I can get a 7900?
  8. Yeah, Plan on using it 4-5 years or so.
  9. Apologize for my system on my account, that's been sold. Have a different AMD Budget PC, that's going to be the fiance's PC. I'd be robbing some memory out of that. Getting the consensus to go with 13600k and ddr5 then?
  10. Gotcha, So 13600k + DDR5 is your recommendation?
  11. Hey all, I'm currently going to be building a new gaming rig this month and I've done extensive looking around. Stuck between going with the new 13600k or 7600x. I'm leaning towards going with a 6950 XT GPU as its near 3090 performance and is the price of a 3080 currently(~$800). A long with this, I'll be on a 1440p 144hz monitor. I know the biggest hurdle is the cost, going with the 7600k I'll need to go with ddr5 and that is super pricey currently. However, newegg has some offers that include a 16gb ddr5 stick free with specific motherboards($220 mobo). Mind you, its slow ddr5.. but its something to get started on. Thinking on going AM5 just as I could potentially upgrade my CPU later on without spending another ~$200 on a new motherboard. Going with 13600k, I can stick with DDR4. I already have two 8gb sticks of DDR4 I can grab out of a different pc we have, That would help. I have also seen 13600k has been beating the 7600x quite a bit. Smaller side question: Does the 7600x + 6950 XT benefit from SAM? Would that be something to consider as well? Kinda stuck on which I should lean towards. Anyone have any opinions? Thanks.
  12. Just to finalize this. I went ahead and splurged on some Eero pro 6e units. Loving them. Getting ~800 down 900~ up now. Thank you everyone
  13. So realistically I'm right where we should be? I know wifi degrades the actual speed, just didn't know by how much. We had spectrum before with 400mbps down and 25 up and I got close to 400mbps(with a different router tho) on our wifi. I just figured i'd be a bit higher with this 1gig connection.
  14. Hello everyone, We just got our new internet installed, symmetrical 1gig fiber connection. We live in a small 4plex building, what would the real world speeds I would see with a top end router? Reason I am asking is I have a Asus ax82u router and even when I am right next to it I am only getting roughly 300-400 mbps via speed test(multiple different servers I've tried) on our 5ghz connection. Our upload is doing perfect, right around ~950 via speedtest. I have our channel set to 100 which is clear, no one else is on it. And I am also using 160mhz. I have also disabled the security suite and turned off qos to see if those were causing issues. The speedtest on the router ui is pulling the correct speeds, ~900mbps down and ~950mbps up. I've also tried multiple different devices. Anyone have any clue? Thank you.
  15. Hey all, So what is happening is the color settings on my laptop won't stick, but when I change the brightness it'll change for a split second and revert back to being washed out(not set). No idea how or why...I used Msi true color before this happened. I was playing on a monitor for the last couple days and when I unplugged it, it's when it started happening. Laptop: GS75 243 -I've used DDU to uninstall/install Intel and Nvidia drivers -Uninstalled/reinstalled true color Anyone have any idea?
  16. Yup, I figured that. Just seeing if I can make it hover around 90c so It can potentially won't throttle.
  17. Hello all, Recently I started being on my laptop again(gs75 stealth 9sf) and noticed the CPU is hovering at around 95c under load. I have a good cooling pad , when I use Cooler boost drops it to around 88c-ish, under the auto fan curve it stays at around 95c... when I manually setup the fan curve I can only get it to around 90c but the fans are still jet engines.. Looking for ways maybe to help, Would undervolting help? I was also thinking on reapplying the thermal paste. Was going to get some gelid gc extreme. I know laptop CPUs get super hot, but I feel 95c is getting up there.
  18. Hey all, I bought a new laptop and it came with two partitions(I only have 1 SSD) C:\ and D:\ ... I deleted the D:\ and it is currently unallocated, I am trying to merge them so I have one partition. When I try to go into disk management and extend the C:\ It will not allow me, the option is greyed out... Anyone have any idea? Thanks!
  19. Hey all, So I've been using my T5 for awhile now on my ps4 pro using usb a to type c cable. I then used it on my pc which used type c to type c... since then I've lost my usb a to type c cable. Whenever I try to use any other usb a to type C cable on the ps4, it refuses to use the T5 as extended storage. From what I have found, there's a specific type of usb a to type C cable I need for the ps4 to accept the T5... does anyone know what Cable would work?
  20. ...Reset/Install windows and you're good? Not exactly sure what you're asking. If you're looking to give him a desktop, it's best to just format the partition and start anew with a fresh install.
  21. If you're smashing the monitor and it begins to spark... I don't think you should be opening it ... ? ... Or I wonder why it has these lines to begin with But good luck with that.
  22. Yeah, I tried that. When I pop it over to 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 with the latest update, windows shows its only pushing SDR, It only pushes HDR when I put it on RGB Full. I can physically see the differences as well. Not sure whats up.
  23. Alright so since I made this post, I've been on the hunt for a answer... If anyone comes across this thread, This is what I found: 4k @ 60 hz cannot do 10/12 bit via RGB / Full through HDMI. For Gaming purposes: Pick RGB and select Full. YCbCr formats are supported for video playblack. When you pick YCbCR and then load up a game(If the game supports it) it will render in 10-bit RGB 4:4:4 then the GPU will convert it to your chosen format(YCbCR) then your display will convert it back to RGB... Cut the middle conversion and just run RGB across the board.
  24. Hey all, Want to understand this fully and get this figured out.. I am wanting the best possible picture out of my 4k tv (Samsung 55in MU8000), Supports up to 10bit and has HDR. In nvidia settings when I am at the color settings what exactly do I set everything at? RGB then full output dynamic range? If so, That only gives 8bpc apparently. Or do I use YCbCr422 and then use 10 bpc? That leaves the output dynamic range only to limited... Anyone wanna help me with this? Thanks!
