I was on my pc yesterday and everything was 100% normal i went out last night came back and tried to get on just now and everything has gone to shit. I only have about a third of the shortcuts on my desktop and the desktop picture is back to the default one i still have all my apps but its as if i just downloaded them which means everything that isnt connected to a server is done for. Also all of the shortcuts in the start menu are gone. For example i play rocket league so when i logged on i still have my level and all the stuff thats saved to the server but all my settings and replays and everything like that are gone and it wants me to sign in to skype and steam and all those things as if i just downloaded them. I can restore my pc back to the 30th but i rather find an alternative because idk if this will happen again or what caused it. Btw im using windows 7 and i have 1 hard drive with everything on it. I NEED HELP! -Thx

Yeah im just that much of a savage that i use broken fans. Was thinking the same thing about the pins being fucked and hopefully thats not the case im hoping it overheated because the fans so messed up but it was only on for 7 or 8 minutes could it have over heated that quickly?

So my pc has been making annoying noise for a few days now so i opened it up to see whats going on and turned out to be the cpu fan. Of course i had to dick around with it and ended up breaking off one of the blades making the sound much louder. I decided to play a match of rocket league and hope for the best hoping to see if it was just a sound or if it would effect the computer and the sound got EXTREMLY loud and then crashed with a colorful lines screen. So i rebooted it and once it got to the screen that says gigabyte (my mobo) i shut it down completly cause i wasnt taking any chances. So ill have to get a new heatsink either way but wanted to come on here looking for any input on the matter that i can get to see if maybe its more than just that

i updated my graphics cards driver and of course since something always has to go wrong, the sound doesnt come out of my tv anymore. so i looked it up and someone advised not updating that driver but i already had updated it and the rollback feature was not able to be pressed so i decided to just uninstall the driver (why not since it doesnt work anyway) and now i have no sound and no idea what to do next and i need help. i have an amd graphics card r9 380 4gb gaming graphics card. somebody save me plz.

i can borrow anything of his, i tried to use his hdd to see if it was hardware or software and the system wouldnt boot with his but if my system can boot with his cpu ill try that

also whats happening since my friend changed the threading is that i can download a game OR play a game and it will not reboot or freeze but when i do both at the same time it does freeze implying that its heavy loads causing it

whatever my friend did has stopped it from rebooting itself but is hasnt stopped it from totally freezing and making me have to reboot it. maybe they were different problems or maybe he partially made a temporary fix but i know 100% its not gpu or ram and 100% its not software because ive formatted the drive and had the same problem. mine is a cx600 i dont know a lot about computers as u can tell but does the cx model potentially not mix well with my other components? just a thought i dont know how it works

yeah i tried that before and it freezes with both individually it took 45 minutes or so as appose to the normal 10-15 though maybe a coincidence but worth noting when i ran memtest it was with both in

my friend has a computer and he knows a lot about them i could test it out with his he just can over my house and tried resolving the issue. he changed the threading of the cpu he said and it hasent crashed since he did this. i erased all the drives then i did all my drivers and windows updates (except the 24 that dont wanna work) and the first time it crashed i downloaded rocket league and played it for about 10 minutes. i also installed winrar and avg. the only device i have plugged in is my xbox controller and it crashed before that was plugged in.

jeez this is so aggrovating lol i dont want to spend another 80 bucks on a power supply that i might not need idk where corsair joe went but hopefully he has some insight on this the guy on the phone was convinced it wassent enough watts tho

i just got off the phone with corsair though and he assured me right away after listening to my components that i dont have a big enough power supply. i dont know if he was trying to get me to just buy a new one or not but if thats the case it makes the problem much simpler. @Corsair Joseph is there any way u can confirm this for me before i go ahead and get a bigger one?
