the Athlon x4 750k and 760k are simply quad-core APUs without the graphics card and they also overclock like a dream generally. In terms of upgradeability, if he gets an FM2+ mobo then that will give him more of an upgrade path than the 6300 will in terms of PCIe 3.0 etc. but then there's the 8 core on the 6300 side so it's all down to what he wants.

considering this Got my 200R less than a month ago so not really plus I really love this case <3 I don't care about boot up speeds, I'm used to some pretty damn slow startup speeds anyway so a decent mechanical drive feels insanely fast anyway budget is a bit low for that considering getting a ducky from my mum, a logitech g600 (I play MMOs a lot) from my dad and then some nice headphones with any money I get.

It will have the 2011-3 socket if I remember correctly which is electronically incompatible with socket 2011 so you will need a new motherboard. -
So I got my PC for my birthday and now I don't know what to get for XMAS, I love my 1600x1200 monitor and won't be replacing it any time soon so that's out of the question; any suggestions? .

CS6 is when Adobe added complete OpenCL support and AMD cards generally have superior compute performance as everyone knows. this, 4GB 770 is a no no -

Yeah if you're looking at anything past CS5 then OpenCL > CUDA and you shoud look into AMD tbh -
