  1. @JaZoN_XD Here in South Africa it is relatively hard to get your hands on a reference card (havent seen a place that stocks them yet). The Galax is surprisingly the least expensive brand here in SA. Only exception I have seen so far is the GTX 970 where the Gainward is the cheapest. The price ladder over here looks like this: (least to most expensive) Galax<MSI<EVGA<Palit<Gigabyte<Asus. @AresKrieger Thanks for the advice, will be going with the Skylake. The Skylake cost barely more than the Haswell this side.
  2. I am considering building a new rig. Sold my last one back in 2012, so I have been out of the scene for quite a while and need some advice. Bellow I have listed my current build idea (framework) and I am open to various ideas and changes. Will be updating the post as I get more advice. UPDATE: Current Build Idea: Case: Fractal Design Define S/R5 PSU: Corsair AX860 OR Super Flower 850W Leadex? RAM: G.Skill F4-2133C15Q-16GRB Ripjaws 4 16GB (4GBx4)? SSD: Samsung 950 PRO 256 gb CPU: Intel i7-6700K 4 GHz (Skylake) Mobo: Asus Maximus VIII Hero OR Asus Z170-A OR Asus Pro Gaming? GPU: GALAX GTX 980 Ti HOF Cooling: CPU-> Corsair H110i, GPU-> Corsair HG10 Bracket with H75 radiator. 1. Budget & Location I am from South Africa and have a budget of about ZAR 30000. 2. Aim Keen to build and be creative. OVERCLOCKING Gaming OVERCLOCKING 3. Monitors 1 4. Peripherals No 5. Why are you upgrading? I haven't own a desktop rig for quite some time now and I am interested in the upcoming VR: HTC Vive being released. Also interested in playing around with overclocking.
  3. I usually only buy trusted/quality brands. When buying a monitor I look for something visually appealing, seeing that you stare at your monitor most of the time. After I found a couple of monitors which I like (taking brand into consideration and the looks) I then move onto watching/reading reviews on the monitors and comparing specs.
